Thank you for using FixYa
If I were you, since you and already know how to it apart, I would look very closely at the mother board and see if you see a solder spash or burnt component. They have built in fuses and sometimes even a resistor or cap. near the power input, it may be damaged. We used to laugh at the ones that blew a a 60 cent resistor when the fuse cost $4.00, or a costly component. The one I am working on now had similiar issue but it was still under warranty and it would not power up with battery out, so I sent it back and they put in a new motherboard.
I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.
By far the most likely scenario is that there is a short in the motherboard. A small error in soldering can cause this. Given that your computer is able to consistently power up and immediately power down, it doesn't seem like you have destroyed any components. This is much easier said than done, but a possible fix would be to re-solder the power jack. Using a soldering iron, carefully reposition the solder without letting it run all over the place... try to ensure that the solder is not making contact with anything other than the intended connections. If this does not fix the problem, or your computer refuses to boot, your motherboard may have been fried. It will have to be replaced in this scenario.
Could be the case.
However, before blaming the main board try a few things:
1: Try to connect your battery to another laptop (Must be the same model)
This will tell you whether the battery is good or bad.
2. Try to connect your power adapter to another laptop (Must be the same model)
This will determine whether the power adapter is good or bad.
3. If the battery and power adapter are OK. Double check your solder job.
You would like to use a good magnifying glass. Sometimes the problem could be in a small micro crack on solder joint. Try to resolder it. Make sure you apply flux first.
Good luck
Unfortunately the service manual is not easy to find, and it will cost more than a new motherboard. A new mother board could be sourced on eBay for as low as $60.00

None of that applies unfortunately the Solution #2 is most likely my problem at this point. I probably need a schematic in that area to see if I touched something I shouldn't have, any place I could view this, online?
