To calculate using fractions you should use the [A B/C] button located on the 3rd row 2nd column of the keypad. For example, if you want to calculate 3 1/2 + 3/4, you should input 3 [A B/C] 1 [A B/C] 2 [A B/C] [+] 3 [A B/C] 4 [A B/C] [ENTER]. You should get an answer of 4 1/4. To convert that into percentages or decimals press the [2nd] button first then the [FD] button which is the [PRB] button. For example to make 4 1/4 to appear as 4.25 you press [2nd] then [PRB] ([FD]) then [ENTER]. If you want it into a percentage, multiple the decimal value by 100.

How to convert percent to fraction

  1. Divide the percent by 100 to get decimal number.
  2. Count the number of digits (d) to the right of the decimal point of the decimal number.Example: 2.56 has 2 digits to the right of the decimal point, so d=2.
  3. Calculate the factor (f) for making the decimal number an integer: f = 10 to power d
    Example:
    f = 10 power 2 = 100
  4. Multiply and divide the decimal number x by the factor f: x * f / f = y / f
    Example:
    2.56 * 100 / 100 = 256 / 100
  5. Find the greatest common divisor (gcd) of the fraction. Example:
    gcd(256,100) = 4
  6. Reduce the fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by the gcd value: Example:
    256 / 100 = (256/4) / (100/4) = 64/25
Example One percent is equal to one hundredth:
1% = 1/100
So in order to convert percent to fraction, divide the percent by 100% and reduce the fraction.
For example 56% is equal to 56/100 with gcd=4 is equal to 14/25:
56% = 56/100 = 14/25

HOW DO YOU DO PERCENTAGES

A percentage is a proportion out of 100. So, 45% is really 45/100.
The problem then is to convert what you have into this form. If you are starting with a decimal, just multiply by 100 eg
0.135 becomes 0.135 x 100 = 13.5%
If starting with a fraction, you do the same, but by then you need a calculator eg
23/41 becomes 23/41 x 100 = 9.43%
You can see with this method, that 1 = 100%, so any number greater than 1 is a percentage greater than 100% eg
2.43 = 243%

Formula for converting fractions into percentage.

Simplest method
  1. divide the top of the fraction by the bottom
  2. Then multiply the result by 100
  3. add a percent sign to the answer so people know it is a percentage (i.e. per 100)
  • e.g. 3/5 *100 = 0.6 * 100 = 60%

Alternative method Since percent means "per 100", you can try to convert the faction to the form ?/100
follow these steps:
  1. find a number that you can multiple the bottom of the fraction by to get 100
  2. multiple both top and bottom of the fraction by that number
  3. write down just the top number with the % sign added to the end
  • e.g. 3/5 as a percentage
  1. we can multiply 5 x 20 to get 100
  2. multiple top and bottom by 20 = (3*20)/(5*20) = 60/100 = 60%

I hope this helps and good luck! If you have more questions - ask away! Please take the time to rate this answer.

EMPLOYEE MAKES $52,612.00 will get a 15% incentive. What will the amount of the incentive be?

The amount of the incentive is the percentage, or fraction of the total amount.

To calculate the incentive, multiply the total amount by the percentage all over hundred:

that is,
Incentive = (initial amount) * (percentage/100)

In this case, we have:

Incentive = (52612) * (15/100)
= 52612 * 0.15
= 7891.8.

So, the incentive would be $7891.8

Hope that was helpful?
Take care.

Hi i have a TI-34-II and i need someone to tel me how to change a fraction into a percent and how to chance a fraction into a decimal. please help!!

One can express percentages as fractions. Say you have 60% and you want to change this into a fraction. you can also express this as 60/100 because all percentages are are parts of 100. So to change a fraction into a percent you would just convert the fraction into a decimal by dividing (3/4 = .75). Then to get the percentage you just multiply the decimal by 100 to get the percent. (75x100=75%

Good evening, I am having trouble figuring out how to configure a given percentage from a test into a Casio fx-115 ES calculator. I need to know how to convert a percentage or decimal into fraction form...

Enter the number, press =, then press the S--D key (located above the red DEL key).

For example, to see what 25% is, type . 2 5 = S--D

Note: if you're in the LineIO mode you will see something like 1 _ 4. If you want to see it as a "real" fraction, press SHIFT MODE 1 to switch to the MathIO mode.

I'm trying to learn how to use the ti-30xa wanting to turn a decimal or a precentage into a fraction. How do I do that?

To display a decimal (floating point) result as a fraction, use [2nd] [FD]. For percentages, simply divide the percentage by 100 first, e.g. 75% as fraction, enter

75 [÷] 100 [=] [2nd] [FD]
