Installing an HP ProCurve M110 without a power adapter into a school network. I have a port available for the ethernet but do not have the steps to configure

press the clear of on the front of the switch with a paper clip end and it will erase your password but will leave your configuration untouched.

connect ur pc network cable to ur switch through ethernet port nd open hyper terminal of pc nd configure it similar to other switches>>>>

are you accessing this switch from the management VLAN? I believe this switch you will need to assign it in the CLI/Menu.

Without an ethernet port, you can't connect to a router. However, adapters are available which can adapt usb to ethernet. Check your local computer store.

This might work for you. Now to go in and configure the router thats something totally different.
To physically install the router
Step 1: Connect the power adapter Connect the power adapter to the router and plug it into an electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch.
Step 2: Connect the router to the computer Disconnect the ethernet cable that is connecting the broadband modem to the network adapter in the computer. Connect the ethernet adapter in the computer to one of the LAN ports on the router.
Step 3: Connect the router to the modem Connect the ethernet port on your broadband modem to the WAN port on the router.
Step 4: Check link lights and connections
Check the front of the router to make sure the Power, WAN and LAN1 lights are on.
