My Kingston USB caught a virus that made shortcuts of my files, leaving the originals look dimmed, or sort of transparent. I accidentally deleted the original files.I have used an app called and recovered less than half of my files. Then i came to a point that i formatted my Kingston flash drive. Unfortunately I caught that virus again. What should I do?

First thing update your anti virus program and then for your data from Kingston USB drive, go for Kernel for FAT and NTFS, restore data software which efficiently and instantly recover all type of data from usb drives as well as from the partitions of hard drive. If you wanna try then check the demo version of the software in which you can preview the files like pics, music files etc and then recover all of them by selecting.

All folders on usb flash memory card changed to be shortcuts , I can't display their contents directly , there is folder called recycler contain an index for the data inside my folders ... i want...

Hello there, sadly you have been attacked by a virus named - RECYCLER. This is a very common virus, I also had an encounter with it recently. What zou are going to do in order to delete is:

1.Look for all folders with shortcut arrow.
2.Right click then properties.
3. in the field TARGET delete everything before path to your usb (before eg. F:/Kobac usb).
4.Save settings. Open folder and copy it to harddrive
5. Do this for all folders.
6. When zou finish coping your data, format your USB.
7. To Format fo to My Computer, right click on USB and format.
8. Copy files from harddrive to your USB back
9. Enjoy!

Good luck, Kobac

ALL folder turned into shortcuts and i really don't know how to get back my stuff. You know the hard drive has music shortcut document shortcut. Somebody help me.

You must have had them all selected and then dragged them somewhere, then maybe dragged back, creating shortcuts at that location. This could be done accidentally by holding the ALT key (or if that key is stuck down) while dragging them back or by holding the right mouse button instead of the left. If it was the right-button thing though, you would have had to also left-click on 'Create Shortcut' on the menu that popped up.

If this is what happened your 'real' folders will be wherever you dragged TO and the shortcuts will be wherever you dragged BACK to.

The fact that there are shortcuts is not alarming. Your originals must be somewhere! Use the Search function to search for any file or folder name you can remember. Start at the root of the system (My Computer) to search everything; it could take a while so be patient. When you find the missing folders just select them all and drag back to where they belong (or Cut from current location, Paste in new location).
