Hello Can you tell me what I need to repair the STK392-110 Convergence ICs on a Panasonic HD 56". I also need Qty 6 - 2.2 Ohm, 2 Watt, Metal Film Resistors. When you remove the rear cover you will see the large green board on the left side. Note the two large aluminum heatsinks with the fins? The 2 Convergence Ics STK392-120 are attached to that heat sink the 12 6.8 ohm resistors are at board location 3149-3160 they are all the 6.8 ohm 1watt metal film resistor located near the Heat sink which has the two ICs.

if it a convergence IC problem it will be costly.

you need to replace the convergence ICs

Based upon your description, the problem area is the convergence circuit. These sets usually have a couple of large black ICs that control the convergence. These Ics either have bad connections on the pins or are failing. You can try resoldering the pins of these ICs if you can solder, or replace them. These ICs are usually marked STKxxx and are attached to a heatsink.
If you get this repaired, expect to pay about $30-$40 for each IC (there can be 2) along with the local labor rate for projection sets.

The three blink error code is the error for failed convergence ICs and the low ohm resiustors. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the 2 ICs and the 6 low ohm resistors plus the kit contains the CD with detailed repair instructions.

Replace the Convergence Ics and the six 2.2 ohm resistors. Heres a link to the proper repair kit for your model which contains both Ics and the resistors plus step by step instructions with pics on how to do the repair.

You will need to replace bothe STK392-110 Convergence ICs and the six resistors . You will need two 3.3 ohm 1 watt metal film resistors for RK42 and RK50, then two 1.8 ohm 1 watt metal films for RK46 & RK54, then one 3.9 ohm 1watt metal film for RK58 and finally one 2.2 ohm 1watt metal film for RK62.
