If you bend the tab down a little on the larger of the two springs, in the direction of adding tension, it will raise rpm. Be careful not to bend too much or your engine will not fully return to idle.
you need to call a dealer and get a price to replace the transmission. perhaps you can swap yours for a rebuilt tranny. If you are at all mechanical, you can change the transmission yourself in an afternoon, so some cost could be saved on labor.
