Does the printer go through the motion of paper coming out when you press print. If it does and still no paper then the print heads may be the issue. Sometimes they do not come on the ink catridges. given how old the printer is proll better to replace it. If it doesnt go through the motion then its a software issue and need that fixed maybe by uninstalling and reinstalling.

Even though my black cartridge is full, my black and white documents are so light they are unreadable. My color cartridges are close to being empty. Can this be the cause?

printers use all cartridges to get the correct colour even black
best get a new colour cartridge then realign the printer with a test pattern

Epson stylus dx6000 only copy in color mode

Check the printers settings. It could be that it is set up incorrectly or you may be out of ink and it only appears to print from your computer because it can use all colors to make it appear black ink is used. Usually when color ink is used to create black print, it isn't a Black Black but with a bit of brownish hue. Try changing setting to USE BLACK ONLY and then see what happens. ALSO TRY my solution vice a versa.

Good luck

My document is black, but when i print it, it came

Sounds like you have a printer that uses a multi-color cartridge to print black, instead of a separate black cartridge and a color cartridge.

If your printer does indeed use one color catridge, then your printer gets the black color by mixing all the color inks together. If one of the ink color runs out before the other, you'll end up with what you're seeing right now.

Error message that color cartridge has low ink, so printer won't print. How do I override this? This message occurs when only one color is low and requires replacing the entire cartridge.

No way 2 override the message. Printer works on a combination of both black and color ink to print those perfect pictures and documents. If it is showing color ink needs replacement, you ve 2 change it in order to print even in black and white.

My HP Officejet 7410 All-in-One Inkjet Printer is doing the following: 1) It prints in color even when the document is black and white (using up the color ink) 2) It prints much more slowly than it did...

go into your driver and change your color preferences to black and white. that way when you want to print color you actually have to tell it to do so. which will save your color ink, and will print much faster. full color printing of a black and white document uses all ink colors except black to make what is called process black.

Ran out of color ink on cnnon mx310 ... want to

If when you attempt to print only with the black cartridge installed but it won't print, then this specific printer requires that color ink also be installed. Typical with most inkjets.

Color ink cartridge out. Won't let me print in black only?

Do this, press and hold the "Stop" button on the printer for 10 seconds that should clear the fault set by the empty ink cartridge.

Not printing after color cartridge ran out - new black cartridge installed.

Yes, this printer has fixed printheads and must have ink in each color to prevent damage to the printheads. Even when printing black only each color is spit in the servicing area to keep the printhead unclogged.

Use of black ink

My husband answered this for me- it takes different colors to make black, therefore it uses some of the color ink
