It's a 5.1 surround system which means every output has its unique sound.try the setting the sound to stereo,or just plug into diff. outputs till u get the right one
In order to view it your phone will need to have a mini hdmi port, your model does not. More then likely your Television will have an USB charger and you can hook it up to your phone and from there you can view your videos and photos only, it will not be able to show you your screen or a movie that you might be viewing from netflix or youtube
try using a different input on your tv. If possible try using a different cord to hook the dvd player to the TV. If neither solution works it sounds like a faulty dvd player.
also try using a different source on the tv like another dvd player, cable etc. etc. hopefully on the same input to make sure the tv is working properly .
Some of those av cords are wired for use on Apple computers and the leads into the mini jack are either reversed or they don't line up properly. The best way to get it fixed is to bring the camera into Radio Shack and test the correct cable that you need. You can order one from Canon usa website as well.
To get the USB connection to work requires software to run it. Pinnacle Studio works well with that.
have you tried hooking your camera up to your tv with the cord it came with and try to see if it has sound that way? maybe the speakers are blown...and if its not the same recorder it was recorded with sound maybe distorted or and even picture can be too so thats no sure way to know if it worked or not...If your camera is or was new guess its not new anymore its been over a year now since you posted it...but I would of taken it back to the store I bought it from and said hey this dont work fix it or replace it thanks...but since this is so far out I would try hooking it up through the tv and make sure you have the cords hooked up properly to your hookups on your tv or vcr whichever you run it through...and the right channel to view and hear the video...
Another thing I would try is through the menu try to find a setting for sound maybe you had it on something like silent movie type or something...
Thats all I thought of hope it helps.
Sincerely,
Rabeka Jo
