Spilling water or any liquid fries components, so this is going to be hardware replacement instead of an easy software fix. Let's perform an easy test to see if the machine is working properly, and narrow down the source of the problem. Connect an external monitor to the laptop, If everything works properly on the external, then the screen is fried and will need replaced. If you still have a black screen with the external, then the video card is fried and will need replaced. On some models the video card is integrated into the motherboard, and the motherboard will have to be replaced in order to fix it. Try this and let me know.

I have a Toshiba Satellite M45 and the monitor no longer works. there are some lines on the screen (left) and the rest of the screen is black.

Hi,
Can you tell us please, what - recently - happen to the lap? have it been shocked, dropped down ,,, ?

To test, u can plug external monitor in the VGA-port, turn ON the laptop, after a minute, toggle the display once, or twice, or 3 times to change the display path to the external monitor.

The monitor on my Toshiba P25-S5093 does not have any display of any kind; all black. I have display using external monitor.

Hi,
Does the display show anything before you enter windows? If yes, then press the key to transfer video back to your original screen once you enter windows. It should be the function key "Fn" + F5 - F8. looks for the icon which shows a monitor or says "CRT/LCD".
If it doesn't show anything before you enter windows I'm afraid your screen needs to be replaced. Good luck.

Broken screen on laptop wont stay on external monitor when its on laptop monitor it still shows parcial screen of the desktop

Using Fn + F8 should go through 3 different positions: Laptop screen, Both screens, Ext Screen --- and back to Laptop screen, etc. This is set up in the computer's internal operating parameters and can not be changed.

Can't get my laptop to display on a monitor.

Most laptops require you to press the Fn (Function) key and another key on the keyboard to activate the external video port, not too sure which button on your model it is, but it should look like a monitor.

Other than that it could be your board is fried. Which will need replacement/ repair.
