Canon mp 630 new cartridges for all colours but black not printing?

I'm no expert but my experience is:

There are two Black cartridges: Cli5Bk and Cli8Bk

Make sure both cartridges have ink in them and that you have removed all packaging including the orange strip.

Canon MP600 printer not printing correctly

The cleaning sponges are on a spingy pad, which can get stuck because of the old ink get a bit gunky. This can cause error 5101.
Try this...
Open the bonnet, use a torch, gently tug the ink carriage to the left of the rails.
Clear any paper jammed in the right of the ink carriage.
Lightly press the cleaning sponges down, (I used a long pen)
Restart the printer.

Canon MP600 printer. Black Ink cartridge PGBK5 is

You need both. One is pigment and the other is dye. One is used for photographs and the other for non-photographs - but it's the printer that decides which one to use.
All Canon printers (to my knowledge) will stop working if any one ink cartridge is empty. This is to prevent damage to the print nozzles. The ink itself is the cooling medium for the hot nozzles.

MP600 only prints blue and black no red or yellow.

When the print cartridge contacts are dirty and the printer cannot detect/communicate with print cartridge.

Clean the contact points on the cartridges with a dry, lint-free cloth.

1. Open the top cover of the printer.

2. Remove the print cartridges.

3. Clean the copper-colored contact points on the cartridges with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.

5. Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

6. Close the top cover.

7. Try printing again.

If you still cant communicate try with new cartridge .

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
To solve the printing problem..

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

Cannon MP600 error message U052

Hello all, I have had an MP600 for a few years now, and after paying about £50-£60 a set of inks i decided to use compatible ones and i also spent £20.00 on a ink resetter from Sudhaus http://www.patronenhandel.de/shop/en/Redsetter/MP-Serie/MP-600/mit-Refill-Set
After about a year of owning the MP600 i got the dreaded U052 error, so i went back to genuine inks, however this did not clear the error. i then decided to telephone Canon and they advised me to clean the print head thoroughly. If you look at the print head there is a white plate with 2 screws either side, i rmoved that CAREFULLY and cleaned behind it, i reinstalled everything back to normal and 2 years later i am still running perfect with no issues what so ever...I'm not sure what resolved the issue but i now refill my genuine cartridges myself and reset the chip with the Sudhaus resetter. To refill your cartridge use the tube inside the genuine ink cartridge DO NOT refill from the top, you will see the 2 arrows on the GENUINE ink cartridge pierce between there and use a long syringe to refill.
Hope this helps people in the future.

My canon MP600 says that it cannot read my pgbk 5 But its appears to be brand new and still had fresh ink in it. But it says it cannot read.how do i fix this.

I had this same problem too and it's so frustrating because you can't do anything without getting that message. I ended up calling Canon at 1-800-828-4040 and they said it was a bad print head (ink tank) and sent me a free replacement. If you're ordering black be sure and specify which black cartridge because we mistakenly got a yellow one as well. Ours was the same in that it was brand new fresh out of the box from Canon, but they say sometimes they just manufacture bad print heads.

Compatibility of Ink cartidge.

The MP600 does not use the 40 or 41 cartridges, it uses individual color (and black) ink tanks. But other models (MP190, MP460, MP470, etc) do use these cartridges. The error message you are receiving indicates that the printer does not recognize the cartridge you installed as a valid black ink cartridge. This can mean that either the cartridge is faulty, or that the printer has a problem.
I would suggest trying another new cartridge, and if you still get the same error, to contact Canon for support options if the unit is still in warranty.

I have a canon MP600 I put a new #5 black ink cartridge in it, now it wo'nt print black. it shows full but only prints colors

Try wetting the bottom of the cartridge to see if ink will come out, it may just be dry, you can do this by placing the bottom into a little water or onto a wet kleenex, let me know how this works.

U150 error?

My dad is having this same problem and has been for the last 5 months. It's not from the printer being new it's a defect in the engineering of the printer cartridge older. The yellow cartridge (being the middle) doesn't snugly fit and so it wiggles around losing it's connection with the printer. I fixed this by taking making tape and taping around the base of the cartridge. It's a tight fit and it doesn't disconnect itself ever. Hope this helps!
