After many years have misplaced the instruction manual for our Vista 200. Need to know how to set up names and numbers for the automatic dialling feature. [email protected]

First, ensure the display is bright enough. If it is not, press successively on the "Brightness key" that is located on the top of the phone above the "Memory key". You have 8 brightness settings. Note that the "Brightness key" has no label.

You are now ready to start programming.

1. Press the "Memory key". It is labelled "Memory" and is located above the "Memory keys" numbered 1 to 10 on the right-hand side of the phone.

2. Press the "Memory key" you want to program. (1 to 10)

3. Enter the number you want to program using the "Dialling keys"
1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6,
7, 8, 9,
*, 0, #

4. Once the phone number is entered, press the "Memory key" again.

5. Now enter the "Name" for the phone number you just entered. To do this, you press the "Dialling keys" as follows:
For A press the "2" key once,
For B press the "2" key 2 times,
For C press the "2" key 2 times,
For Q press the "7" key 2 times,
For Z press the "9" key 4 times.
Use the same for all letters.

To go to the next letter, press the "Right arrow key".
For a space, press the "Right arrow key".

6. Once the name is entered, press the "Memory key" one last time. You are done.

7. To test it, press the "Memory key" you just programmed.

Address book disappeared

I could not find the exact manual for your phone, but this one looks close and has instructions for programming the memory: http://www.conairphone.com/IBs/caller_id/cid200.pdf It says: BASIC MEMORY PROGRAMMING The CID200 comes with 10-memory dialing. NOTE: Your local phone company restricts the time you can have the handset off the base (off-hook). YOU SHOULD PROGRAM THE CID200 MEMORY WITH THE LINE CORD UNPLUGGED FROM THE WALL, IF YOU ARE GOING TO PROGRAM MORE THAN ONE PHONE NUMBER. Press [STORE] to enter memory store. Press the keypad to enter the number that you want to program. Press [STORE]. The ?MEM? will be displayed on the right corner of LCD. Press the memory location (0 to 9) on the keypad. The LCD will then return to the ?Answer-Ready? mode, and display the total call counter, new call counter, current time and date. Copy from the Caller ID to Telephone Memory Press [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] until the Caller ID memory location to be copied appears on the LCD. Press [STORE] twice to enter memory store. The ?MEM? will be displayed on the right corner. Press the memory location (0 to 9) on the keypad. The LCD will then return to the ?Answer-Ready? mode, and display the total call counter, new call counter, current time and date. If no key is pressed within 20 seconds, the LCD will return to ?Answer-Ready? mode. Repeat the above steps to store a different number in the same speed dial location, or to store a new number in a different speed dial location. NOTES: ? Pressing [PAUSE] will place a 4-second PAUSE into the number. Which may be required for accessing special phone services. ? You can store a number with up to 16 digits maximum. Only the last 14 digits will be displayed.
