What do you have the camera's USB setting at? What happens if you change it? To get to the USB setting, go to the Setup menu and select "USB". Your choices are Mass Storage and PTP.

According to Nikon specifications this camera uses USB only to transfer pictures and videos, not for video streaming or taking pictures (image device), but you could test if it changes opearting mode by setting USB option to PTP in the setup menu (by default is set as Mass storage).

How do I use my 5200 nikon as a webcam?

The 5200 was designed primarily as a still camera, storing images (and videos) to memory. It was not designed to function as a webcam, streaming live videos to another device.

That probably wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.
