Sound but no picture on my goodmans 32inch lcd tv was working ok then screen turned off

Based on the brand parts may not be available and six years is better than average life for this type of set.

If the TV is still under warranty return it ASAP. The set will need to be serviced

Have the remote checked--it can be tested to see if it is the problem--if remote is good but does not work on set the remote receiver may be bad inside the TV.

Most shops and some electronic places have a remote tester--point remote at it and press the buttons and if working a light reacts---some digital cameras will also if on react on the little screen they have if this is done.

Either the remote or the receiver in the set is most common.

If you have sound, then your tv doesn't need tuning. Shine a bright light onto the screen, can you see a very dim picture? If so, your backlight has stopped working. This is almost always due to the inverters failing and can be repaired.

Ur LCD inverter board is dead,must replaced this board to get picture back.It usally a long board.Tries Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to get the board part.

has the problem been resolved, I am experiencing the same thing, guarantee is 3 weeks out of date -typical!!

If you can open than open your LCD tv & checked Inverter Borad it have White & red color connector may be this board is defective.

Kept trying to switch on, then mid-afternoon it worked. Had already phoned repair man and phoned back to cancel. He said that it may have been due to the extreme cold during the night and once the room warmed up it was O.K. Whatever, it is still working. Does that make sense ?
