Hi, My Nikon Coolpix S3000 flash has stopped working after only 3 weeks of having the camera and an aeroplane icon is also showing on the display. I have had the camera at elevation and in humidity, but with a new camera I would think this would not be a problem. I have also charged the camera totally but the flash still does not work. Please advise me any fix. Many thanks Shelley

Sounds like you somehow put the camera in "airplane" mode which keeps the camera from interfering with the electronics on an airplane. Change the mode.

One wonders how you do that. There is no such mode listed in the manual.

Just found answer. The airplane icon is not related to any imagined "airplane mode". It is an indication that the time zone has been set for a travel destination vs. a home destination. Setting is under Menu, Set up, Date.

One wonders why someone would post spurious information. Airplane mode, geez.

Nikon S3000 dosent turn on

Have you updated the firmware? According to Nikon, when the Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL10 is inserted in the camera and charged, charging sometimes did not stop after the designated amount of time had passed. Usually, you'll receive the message "Battery Exhausted" if this is the problem... but you could also have a completely dead camera as well.

See Nikon's website, download updated firmware to your camera and install a NEW battery. http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16873

My coolpix s3000 camera won't turn on after just taking it brand new after the box (I did put the battery in correctly and it is currently charging with the green light flashing on and off and I have also...

1) Please charge the camera and make sure the GREEN LED flashes.

2) When the green LED STOPS flashing disconnect the camera from the charger and wait a few seconds.

3) Now that the Camera is off attempt to turn it on. It is in a half way on while charging and you cannot 'turn it on'.

4) In review: Charge it, Disconnect it and turn it on.

Hi My digital camera the Nikon coolpix s3000 kept flashing batter exhausted but it wont charge by the computer. How do i fix or charge my camera?

Not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge batteries, especially if you're going through a hub. Try a different USB port if one is available. Otherwise, plug the supplied AC charger into a wall outlet and use that.
