Just wanted to let you know how disappointed I am with your new
farberware peculator coffee pots.
I own 2 of your older ones made in the sixties and they still work
great, I liked them so much I bought my sister one for Christmas 2009.
the heating element died Dec. 2010.
I have since read the reviews on your new pots and they are not good.
just wanted you to know that I hate to see such a great old company,
with wonderful products go down hill. I am not expecting anything from
you=20
just thought it's better to talk to you than about you. Sincerely, Leah
Howell

Hi, If you have a Farberware, Just look into the bottom of the pot. There you will see what looks like a hole in the pot. That is the high heating element, under the pot, when you go to make coffee the pump ( rod) sits into the hole. When you turn it on to make coffee the high heating element that the pump is in gets very hot and starts pushing the water that is in the hole to the top (that is called perking) the hot water goes over the the top and the drops into the coffee, This keeps going on until the thermostat feels it has reached 190 degrees or close to it and turns the high element off. While this is running it's cycle the keep warn is on helping the water to get hot, when the main element is off the keep warm element that runs around the bottom of the pot stays on all the time the pot is plugged in. Should the coffee get to cold the thermostat will turn the main heating element back on until it is back to 190. This system was developed by Farberware and a lot of makers copied it, But Farberware sold the pots and was known for a FAST and HOT cup of coffee. Farberware started making them in China and the pots are having a hard time keeping it up to American standers, and parts are very scarce.Farberware USA pots have been around a long,long time and are still going strong . I hope this helped you to understand how the pot works.
Hi you have a pot made in China, 1 of 2 things are broken. 1 the thermostat, 2 the keepwarm element. 9 out of 10 times it is the thermo.You can not buy them in the USA. I have a auction on eBay and I cab make the parts out ob USA parts. Mt eBay name is ron622c, you can take a look. Go to Farberware coffee pot parts. Good luck. Ron
Dear Pastor Jim
It sounds like both pots heating elements went out or are going out and need replaced! You didnt give the model numbers so I cant tell you the parts numbers to order! but if you go to the faberware website with the model numbers I am sure they can help you!
This should be an easy fix if you are the handy man type!

Hi. Sue, Problem is you're buying China pot's. One of 2 things can cause that problem. The Thermostat or the keepwarm element. 9 out of 10 it is the thermo. The parts are not available in the USA. I have a eBay auction site. I have to make the thermo's out of USA ones. They are 8.00 plus 2.00 S/H. My eBay name is ron622c. If you want to stay with Farberware you can buy a used one or if you are lucky a new one. But don't buy a China one, Good luck. Ron
I have a Farberware L1360 with the same problem . If there is water in the pot , in about an hour a nice little puddle forms . It is leaking right where the spigot attaches to the body of the pot. I can see a rubber washer squeezing out around this spot. Maybe It melted? I think it needs some heat resistant washer to replace it. Farberware co. doesnt really exist anymore. you can barely get parts. If the spigot itself works, mine does. I can't see buying a new one if it just needs a washer. Does anyone know what type of washer would be a good replacement?
