You may want to follow the below steps to disable Microphone:
(1)Right click on the speaker icon in the status bar.
(2)Select Recording device.
(3)Right click on Microphone array and disable it.
However, if you want to enable this later on you may just right click on the same screen and select show disabled device. Right click on the device and enable it.
Right click on the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom right, next to the date/time) and select recording devices. It will give you a list of whatever devices you have on your computer that are designated to record sounds. Choose the on board microphone, right click, and select disable device.

You should have given details of your Camera.Anyways I'll tell according to Canon A460 because I have same and other cameras also generally have similar settings. First using Funciton set the size to Postcard size (with a Clock icon). Now using Menu button go to Date Stamp option and set it to 'ON'. you are done. Please rate me appropriately.
