Have you tried to replace the contactor and see if that helps at all? If there is another issue like a bad switch contact then you can still replace that becuase some of those parts are universal

My Oster 3212 food processor will not turn on.

You have to make sure that both the bowl and the cover are locked into place. Sometimes if you wiggle it a bit, it will go into the right spot. Make sure that the outlet you are using works.

Won't start

Make sure the work bowl handle is locked in place so that it is facing the front of the processor (same side as the on and off switches).

Make sure the feed tube of the lid is facing toward the back of the processor and that the plastic or metal rod of the pusher sleeve is facing the back of the processor.

Note: this assembly only applies to the Cuisinart DFP-14 series - every Cuisinart has a slightly different assembly for it to turn on.

It won't turn on

The work bowl and lid must be locked together in a specific order or else the processor will act dead. If your DFP-3 has a "tower" on the back, make sure the tab on the lid connects to this tower. If your model does not have a tower, call Cuisinart to verify the correct assembly - 1-800-726-0190

Unit assembled, lights are on (pulse, on) nothing happens

The Kitchenaid food processors have a few safety features implimented. If the unit is not assembled properly, this may prevent the unit from turning on. I am thinking this is an issue of assembly because the light is on, so the unit is definitely getting power.

Proper assembly is below:

If it isn't all ready, please disassemble the entire unit. This means removing the blade and/or disc, blade, removing work bowl, work bowl lid, and blade.

Start by placing the work bowl onto the motor base. The work bowl handle should be facing at 9 o'clock, which is out to your left. Rotate the handle downward until it locks in at the 6 o'clock position, which will lock over the center of the button panel.

Repeat the process with the work bowl lid. The blade does not need to be present for the motor to engage, if this is an assembly issue.

Power is available (light is one) but nothing

Sounds like a safety feature working. Unplug. Take apart as if you are going to clean it. Check all parts carefully to see if there is anything broken, like a nub.(Are all parts there?) Put back together, making sure they are fully engaged. Plug in and try. This happened to my food processor and it was a bit of dried food stuck in the bowls sliding track that kept it from clicking fully connected. Hope this helps!

Food processor does not work but light is on

Put the work bowl, lid, and pusher on one piece at a time - handle of work bowl faces the front of the food processor, hollow feed tube faces the back, and the sliding lock switch on pusher sleeve faces the front. Should turn on.

If it doesn't, test the motor - remove the work bowl and other parts completely. Plug the base in and turn it on, and use a pen to push in the dark grey or black button on top of the base - if it spins, the motor is still good - you may just need a replacement part. If it doesn't make a sound, it needs to be sent in to Cuisinart for repair.

Tried to use my powerprep pluss cuisinart food processor and nothing happens. The on button lights up but nothing happens when i press the pulse button.

Remove the work bowl from the base of the food processor, and separate the bowl, lid, and pusher sleeve.
Plug the base into the wall outlet, turn the food processor ON, and then use a pen to press in the dark grey or black button on top of the base of the food processor - if you hear some kind of noise, then your motor is still good.
Put the work bowl on first, with the handle facing the front of the food processor.
Put the lid on, with the lid lined up with the handle of the work bowl.
Put the pusher sleeve in the lid, with the metal piece facing the front of the processor.
Your processor should now turn on.

If it doesn't call Cuisinart and see if you are still in-warranty (3-year warranty).

Good luck!
