When I turn on my xbox the screen shows lines and colours and green/red dots. I can make out what is on the screen but it is fuzzy. The sound is also wrong, on and off and strange when you can hear it. I know it is not a cable problem as that is working fine and the tv is also fine.

I would try cleaning the connections to the xbox and the TV. Also you could try connecting with a different type of cable (VGA or use the HDMI cable).
If that doesn't clear things up then you could have a hardward problem with your xbox.

Testimonial: "All fixed now. While I had tried cleaning my HDMI cable I tried again and also reversed said cable. Working fine now."

It sounds like your resolution is set to a mode that your TV can not handle.

Go to:
1.) System Settings
2.) Console
3.) Display
4.) Change the resolution to 480i
5.) If 480i works, keep increasing the resolution until you find the last one that works. 1080P is best and 720P is second best.

What is up with my 360 when ever i play it for about 30min it shows green fuzzy lines down the screen of my tv and purple fuzzy lines down my tv screen and after those two happen sometimes it will have red...

well definitely video issues of some sort. if you have a second video cable (or hdmi cable if your unit supports that) give that a try.
*assuming that doesn't work Unfortunately it sounds more likely that it's an issue with the video card inside the xbox. this may be repairable by a professional.
if you have it under warranty i would contact microsoft for a replacement/repair https://myservice.xbox.com/en-US/Pages/Welcome.aspx or call Toll free: (800) 4MY-XBOX

My Xbox 360 is fuzzy and has green dots all over the screen

I doubt it's the 360 since everything else is working just fine. The menu works fine, the game works fine. However if you downloaded one of these maps from the marketplace it may be corrupt, and you will have to delete and re-download the map pack.

Xbox 360 doesn't read the T.V

It sound like E74 Hana chip error very common, you could try fix it yourself, there are tutorials on the internet to fix the problem but you'll have to open your xbox and that would void the warranty.
the xbox sometimes doesn't show the red lights because the chip is not totally fried, so with the proper handle you could fix it.
If you do want to fix it by yourself here is a link showing how to do that.

No picture on 360 with white dotted lines.

Make sure that the video connection is properly connected to the TV.. (yellow to yellow) or if using Red Green Blue, make sure colours are connected to the right ports on back of TV)

Also, if you have the option, make sure either HDTV or Normal TV is selected on the back of the connector to the Xbox (IE, if you do not have an HDTV, select normal cable).

My xbox 360 is showing green

no red lights, no previous error msgs, and video output on the box has just died. playing halo yesterday and mid-game the colours went askew (like a green overlay) with horizontal banding, backing out to the dash solved nothing so after a reboot there was simply no video. troubleshooted the tv and cables and its definately the box.
