  1. Disconnect your iPod from your computer, then press the Menu button until the menu title says "iPod," regardless of the language displayed. This means you are at the main menu.
  2. Scroll to the fourth menu item in the screen and press the Center (Select) button. This takes you to the Settings menu.
  3. Scroll down to the last menu option but DON'T select it; in English, this is the "Reset All Settings" option.
  4. Scroll up to the third menu item from the bottom one. This should be Language.
  5. Press the Center button to select Language.
  6. Select your preferred language from the list.

Turn on the ipod. Press the menu button, and scroll down to one item above the bottom of the list. This should be the settings. Press the center, or select, button. Scroll down to the third menu item from the bottom. This should now be the language option. Press the center button and select english from the list.

You should be able to use Apple's support page on this issue to be able to set the language preference back to English.

No problem, you'll just need to do a full reset to restore the language to English.

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.

My ipod nano mini #A1199 has frozen?

Hold menu ( up on the the little circle pad ) and the center button for a couple of seconds until the screen goes blank, then press a button after it goes off to make it come back on. That SHOULD unfreeze it and work as a reset.

Hope this helps!

If you have an iPod nano or Fifth Generation iPod (iPod with video):
  1. Scroll down to the last menu option but don't select it.
  2. Scroll up one menu item. This should be Settings.
  3. Press the Center (Select) button. This takes you to the Settings menu.
