Good day, My Lenovo Thinkpad USB hard drive 320GB is not recognised by my laptop and other laptops i have tried it on, after punching in my password and the light goes green.

It is gone. I hope you didn't have anything important on it. You may be able to take the drive out of the case and connect it internally and possibly read the data. Good luck I hope this helps.

looks like u primary hard drive is inside the laptop and so should be displayed as c : drive ,

and the reason , the external hard drive is not displayed seperately is csue ., the external HD  may be added as slave to the internal HD .,

can u tell me ,make a right click on c:/ drive and choose properties : and tell the totalsize dispalyed

we have to check in BIOS weather the "USB EMULATION" option is enabled or disabled.also if you have usb 1.0 and not usb 2.0 this external hdd will not be recognised.
