Hello, there are three options for such failure, the first and simplest is to try to get the remote control out of the room while the TV is off when it is in stand bye. A second possibility is the micro switches in front of the TV, you can verify that they cause failure by disconnecting the cable that connects them to the main board. If the problem stops, you will need to replace all the front switches. And now the last option, however the more expensive one, that there is a malfunction of the micro-processor circuit, from which comes the command to turn on the TV. I hope that was helpful! Please come back to me, if you have any questions or if you need further guidance.
Either your Power switch is stuck, or malfunctioning, or the Control Board has a problem and needs to be replaced.
It would probably be more cost efficient to go ahead and purchase another TV unless your TV still has a warranty. Try contacting the company directly and telling them what is happening to see if they might go ahead and fix it for you. Here is the Haier Support site: http://www.haier.com/servicesupport/index.asp
