How to connect a samson s mix 5 channel mixer

It depends on what you are trying to connect. The XLR would be a professional type microphone, it does not have phantom so a condenser mic will not work. The other inputs should match your stereo equipment. The output goes to your amp.
The Samson S-Mix is a miniature, rugged 5-channel audio mixer with 4-line inputs and a single XLR microphone input. The line inputs are comprised of two 1/4" phone and stereo RCA phono connections. Each input channel has a rotary volume control and the outputs include stereo RCA phono connectors and 1/4" TRS phone headphone output. The S-Mix is powered with an 18 volt AC adapter.

Getting distorted sound when connecting from mac pc headphone jack to 1/4" line in input

You are connecting a NOISY unbalnced line to a balanced input. Buy a DI box and then use an XLR to XLR to the mixer inout and run the MAC into the DI with "ground lifted". You will need to make a resistive mixer between the headphone jack and the DI as well. The headphone jack is STEREO. You COULD try a STEREO 1/8 inch splitter to 1/4 inch left and right cable... you MIGHT get away with that. Right now the left and right amps in the MAC are fighting eachother.

I hook it up and the diag light comes on

yes you have a internal fault of the amp. the circuit that puts it into safe mode is bad and that is a very small chip on the board know as a op amp. needs to be repaired.

I hook the hifonic amp up and it cuts on but the subs dont beat but the subs work

Try switching around one of the pos/neg speaker wires (you may have one crossed and they are firing out of phase, meaning when one pushes out the other pushes in and vise versa causing the base signals to cancel each other out) while the system is playing, only switch one speaker, not both. You can normally look at the subs and tell if they are moving very good and not much bass is there, you could also have the wrong box for them, this will also give a similar result

CLIPPING ON ONE CHANNEL HIFONIC FALCON

clipping can result from improper wiring or solder jumps to figure this out youll need a continuity tester simply check you inputs and outputs and make sure wiring is correct then if so your amp has a solder jump inside them amp.
