Question about Hitachi 55HDX99 55 in. Plasma HDTV

I have a plasma 55 dirctors cut. No picture or sound was told upper y board was bad replaced it and still doing same thing

It is really hard to fix sets like this without voltage checks, but if you have any led lights flashing this may tell what is wrong with your set. Also if there are lights in the back of the set that are flashing on the logic board or the Digi-Main PWB But usually with a bad digi-main you have audio, also check the buffer board and see if any holes lie in the buffers. These are the boards on the far left side of the set looking from the back. The buffer chips are the black square IC's sometime you will see chip pieces out of the buffers. This mean that one is bad.

I'm not sure if this model is the one that has resistors that go bad. You can actually purchase a pack of resistors in a kit. It will come with solder, the resistors and instructions. You can lay the tv out and take the circuit board out to find the blown components, and replace the bad ones. Takes about an hour start to finish and will cost around $65.00. It has been a few years since I did this, so I'm not sure on the price.

Hi, my hitachi 55hdt79 had sound but no picture. I replaced upper, lower and Y main board ND60200-0032. When I turn tv on, picture comes for just one second and goes off again. Do you have any suggest

I nave a toshiba 55.in plasma tv model 50hp no picture just sound

Problem with a Plasma is it can be:

Power supply issue in set.
Almost any board pulling voltages down.
Main signal board that controls everything bad.
worst case is display panel (entire front screen unit) bad.

Best advice is get it to a shop and get an estimate.

Lower and upper buffers should be replaced together. No need to replace the main board.

PICTURE FLICKERS ON & OFF & THEN GOES OUT. SOUND STILL ON. TH-50PX75U PLASMA TURN OFF FOR AWHILE & IT MAY WORK FOR AWHILE BUT WILL START AGAIN.

If you have a sound and no picture, especially if it flickers then it rules out the main board and CTRL board being bad. You will want to replace the Y-Main board, but when you replace the y-main board you should always replace the upper and lower ybuffer boards because they can short out your new Y-main board.

55 inch hitachi plasma

Try re-seating your upper and lower buffer board connectors. These boards run the length of the set on top and bottom. Since your line is from the top going down I would check that one. The connector will be close to where the line is showing up on the screen.

No picture but has sound

The problem can be caused by a bad sustain board (Ysus Zsus) , the popping sound is often caused by a capacitor blowing up.
The TV must be taken apart and tested before eventually replacing sustain boards.
