Does your router require a WPA code to get access to it? For instance, if you try connecting a computer to the router wirelessly, does a ask for a password?

You would need to enter the WPA that is being used by your router. This is like a "password" of sorts that prevents other people from using your internet connection without your permission. Once you find out the WPA key (it should be in your router's configuration), you can either disable WPA on your router, or enter it into your PSP.

How to find wpa key

Typically I just tell people to reset their routers and set them up again. You can download Cain & Abel to view your wireless password on a device that has connected before. Cain & Abel will almost always be flagged by antivirus software as a virus since it is a hacking tool.

How do I find the WPA key ?

If you are trying to connect the PSP through a network that belongs to you, then the network administrator is the person to ask for the WPA key.
The WPA is like a password. It protects the network from unauthorized access.

I cant get a wpa key.it always tells me wpa key has timed out or is not correct

Hello,

Thank you for using Fixya!

The WPA key can be found your router's setup page or configuration page (under wireless settings).

If you do not know how to access your router's setup page I would suggest contact your router's manufacturer to assist you on getting the WPA key. If you are connecting to other peoples wireless network then I'm afraid that is not possible unless you can ask them to provide you the key.

You can also go to www.portforward.com, to know on how to access router's setup page for different brand and model.

Hope this helps.

Thank you,

Psp internet HELP

The WPA key for a PSP is the same as the WPA key for any device you may have connected to your wireless router, e.g. a laptop. If you know the key to your router, then that is the same as the WPA key for your PSP. If it is not a secured password protected router, or if it is using another encryption algorithm, then use "no security" or "WEP" for your PSP's security settings.
