You cannot reset the lamp timer. This is an indication that your lamp is at the end of it's life and must be replaced. Contact Panasonic for a replacement.

Panasonic projector PT-L78 - Cannot get ride of Lamp time error. To reset the timer

How long ago did you replace the lamp?
If the lamp has not actually been replaced and you are attempting to bypass this safety feature then I have bad news for you. Once the projector determines current flow through the lamp has exceeded the threshold amount, it will put the projector into the mode it is in now - Critical Lamp Replacement. You can set the projector bulb to low power output and see if that allows you to reset the bulb life timer but, again, if you have not actually replaced the bulb assembly, you are in danger of the bulb bursting under pressure. This can actually damage the projector.

You can find the manual for your projector at

Can't reset lamp timer after lamp replacement on Panasonic PT-AE40000

I have a Panasonic PT-AE4000U and could not reset the timer after replacing the bulb with a, non-Panasonic branded bulb. Calls to tech support were not very helpful. It was another bad customer service experience. Through troubleshooting it myself, I discovered the solution was simply to unplug EVERYTHING (serial cable, hdmi cables, etc.) from the device, power it off and back on. Follow the procedure in the manual, the timer immediately reset!!

After a few seconds the lamp light began to blink red, its a panasonic pt-lb10svu, show no pic at all has a new lamp

Hi, Replacing the lamp in a Sharp LCD projector requires the lamp indicator to be reset. When the lamp needs to be replaced, the indicator becomes red. Resetting the counter for the lamp hours to zero will also reset the indicator to green.
  • Attach the power cord to the projector and plug it into an electrical outlet.
  • Step 2Locate the buttons on the top of the projector and simultaneously hold down the "Enter", "Menu" and "down arrow" buttons, then press the "Standby/On" button.
  • Step 3Continue holding all four buttons depressed until the lamp indicator light begins flashing green. The counter is now reset. Zero hours will now be displayed on the screen.

How do you reset lamp hours back to zero on a Panasonic PT-D4000U projector?

When you remove one of the lamps, you're notice that there's a micro-chip build into the housing itself. Unfortunately there's no way of manually resetting the lamp hours, due to the chip. You'll need to replace the whole lamp assembly.

    PT-LC50E LCD Projector

With power available at the projector and the lamp off (projector off) - hold the input button on and press the power button on and hold for 5 secs. This will reset the lamp timer to zero.

I wish they could have stuck this in the operators manual.
