hi, For switching off the closed caption option do the following.
1. Press CC on the remote. • This will present the Closed Caption information display.
2. Press CC while the Closed Caption information is still on the screen. • Press repeatedly until you select the desired closed caption service as OFF. ok
Check the tv remote control look for the button said CC get it on to CC1,2,3 one of these numbers will show close captioning,if the the show have captioning.Or tries go into the menu goto Captioning or Text functions turn on 1,2,3 will get the captioning functioning.
I could do better with a picture of the remote. Closed captioning is usually a multi-press button, that is each press takes you through each of the four types of closed captioning and then off. You can enable closed captioning on a DVD Recorder, it looks like the TV, but its only on the picture from the DVD Recorder. If you have a PVR, you could have closed captioning on on that device. Try tuning off everything else to make sure it IS the TV. Turn on the menu and find the closed captioning settings and set to OFF. Press the close captioning button on the remote (If there is one) and press CC repeatedly until it says OFF. Try and control close captioning, timer and menus with the ORIGINAL remote and not a programmable one. Programmable remotes are not always completely compatible.
Noway to turn off captioning right away without the original remote. But U can unplug the tv for an hour,tv well reset itself back to original setting. The Captioning will shut off buy itself.Because captioning reqiure CC buttion on orignal remote and must manually turn on and off.
On the remote - Press "Clear" button
May have to turn off CC in the TV menus. Try Menu on the remote and look for closed caption there.
If remote doesn't work, can try with buttons on TV itself to get into menu and turn it off.
Hi Hfrohman, This may sound crazy, but, press and hold the power button on the TV while unplugging it, continue to hold power button for 60 seconds or more. Release it and plug TV back in. Sometimes that will clear the settings.
I have the JVC I Art 46" TV. The Close Caption was turn on accidentally by my grandson. After lots of searching for the original remote. I called JVC Customer Support. He told me to change the Close Caption settings to CC2 and T1. That fixed the CC without having the original remote.
try uplugging the tv for a day
if the captioning is still in customer menu
then try to find a universal or replacement remote
this remote may have dedicated captioning key
there may be a button sequence on the front of the tv that will reset the customer settings
