When you replaced the battery, it reset the radio. You will need to reprogram the radio stations you want on fm. Find the radio station you want and then press the set button on the radio and then the corresponding number on your radio (ie: set1, set2, set3, set4 or set5)

The radio is locked on a 1995 oldsmobile 88

How to Unlock a Chevy Radio Step 1: Start the vehicle and turn on the radio.
Step 2: Press and hold preset numbers 2 and 3 until a three digit code appears on the radio display. Write this code down.
Step 3: Press the AM/FM button. Your radio will display a second three digit code. Write the second code down. You will now have a six digit code.
Step 4: Call the Chevy Radio Code phone line at 1-800-537-5140.
Step 4: Enter 106010 followed by the # key to direct you to the radio code retrieval system.
Step 5: Enter the six digit code you retrieved in steps 2 and 3 followed by the * key. They must be in order. You will be given a four digit radio code. Write down the radio code.
Step 6: Start your vehicle and turn on the radio. Using the Minute and Hour buttons, enter in the four digit radio code to your stereo system. Press the AM/FM button to unlock your stereo.
How to Unlock a GM Radio Step 1: Start the vehicle and turn on the radio. The radio will display "LOC" indicating the Theftlock system is activated.
Step 2: Press and hold preset buttons 1 and 4 for ten seconds. (If you don't have a fourth preset button, press and hold presets 2 and 3.) The radio will display a three digit number. Write this number down.
Step 3: Press the AM/FM button. Your radio will display a second three digit code. Write the second code down. You will now have a six digit code.
Step 4: Contact your local GM Dealer and give them the six digit code. They will give you a four digit radio code.
Many dealers will give you your radio code for free, while others may charge a small fee. If your dealer is charging a larger fee, consider calling another dealer or doing a Google search for sites offering GMC Radio codes. They usually charge a small (around $10) fee.
Step 5: Start your vehicle and turn on the radio. Press the Hour button on the radio until the first two number of the code appear. Next, press the Minute button until the last two numbers of the code are displayed. Once all four digits appear, press the AM/FM button to unlock your stereo. The display will read "SEC" indicating you have successfully unlocked your radio and it is fully operational.
If radio display reads "INOP" while the vehicle is on, too many incorrect radio codes have been entered. To remove "INOP" from your display and unlock your radio, you must leave the key in the On position for one hour. Once you've retrieved your radio unlock code, write it down for future use. Your radio code will not change and having it handy will save from going from the radio code retrieval process again.

How to insert the code for the radio of my golf3 /1996

ENTERING SECURITY CODE

Most vehicles are equipped with Heidelberg V or VI radios that are equipped with a theft protection program. When the battery has been is disconnected or if the radio has been removed, the radio will lock-up electronically and cannot be operated until the security code is entered. On the Heidelberg V, if the proper code is not entered in six attempts, the radio will lock-up permanently and cannot be repaired. On the Heidelberg VI, two incorrect attempts will lock the radio for about 1 hour.
The Heidelberg V may have a code assigned at the factory or a personal code created by the owner. The Hiedelberg VI has a code assigned at the factory and entered by the dealer during pre-delivery inspection. New radios come with the code printed on a sticker but not entered into memory. All codes are 4 digits. To code the radio:
Heidelberg V

  1. Turn the radio ON . The radio should display the word SAF. DO NOT attempt to eject a cassette with the radio in this mode.
  2. Push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time and hold them until the display changes, then release them immediately. The number 1000 will appear for about 3 seconds, then the display will go blank. Release the buttons then.

NOTE If the buttons are held too long, the radio will interpret this as an attempt to enter an incorrect code.
  1. Use the first four station selector buttons to enter the code. The first digit of the code is always 1. Each time the other buttons are pushed, the number in that position will change.
  2. When the code appears correctly in the display, push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time. When the radio plays and displays a frequency, release the buttons.
  3. If the code was entered incorrectly three times, momentarily disconnect the battery and try again. If the code is entered incorrectly three more times, the radio cannot be coded and cannot be repaired.

Heidelberg VI
  1. Turn the radio ON . The radio should display the word SAF. DO NOT attempt to eject a cassette with the radio in this mode.
  2. Push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time and hold them until the display changes, then release them immediately. The number 1000 will appear and remain in the display.

Y radio display said

after market stereo i presume?
it sounds to me like the radio itself is defective if the functions are not doing what they are supposed to, pressing BAND on the radio should not switch it to blue tooth or phone, i would unplug the radio until you can get it repaired, taking out the radio fuse will still leave the memory wire hot.

How do i make the radio in my 1993 VW cabriolet work the guy i bought it from said you have to input a code but he couldnt remember what steps to take. i do have the code he wrote that down. what do i do

You can try this. It's for a Passat but it's most likely the same for all models that year.
1. Turn the radio on. "SAFe" should appear on the display.
2. Push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons. Hold them until the display changes to 1000, then release. If the buttons are held too long or accidently pushed again this will be interpreted as entry of an incorrct code.
3. Enter the code usung the first four station programing buttos. The code will appear on the display.
4. Push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons and hold until the display changes to SAFe. Release the buttons.
After 2 incorrect tries the radio will lock up and refuse any more tries. Leave the radio on for at least 1 hour and then you can try again. Same deal, 2 tries and then lock up. The radio does not lock up permanently.
This needs to be done any time you disconnect power so write it down somewhere and keep it. Any time you disconnect the battery or disrupt power to the radio, blow a fuse or remove the fuse it will have to be done.
Hope this helps.

Radio reset code for 1998 a4 audi

I had the exact same problem on my 1998 Audi A4 Quattro Sedan I just purchased. I read a couple of other posts that said to try looking for the radio code in the spare tire compartment in the trunk. Sure enough on the right hand side of the compartment was a information label and on it someone had written the code 1174 in pen. I then left the key in the ignition and the radio on for an hour. Then I pushed the DX and FM1/2 button and the same time until the "1000" number appeared on the display. Then I pushed in the code 1174 using the 1 - 4 tuner buttons. For example the number 1 key I pushed until the number 1 appeared. Then pushed button number 2 until the number 1 appeared, pushed button 3 until the number 7 appeared and button 4 until number 4 appeared. After I had the code 1174 on the display, you again push the DX and FM1/2 button at the same time and the radio unlocked and worked perfectly. I hope that this helps. I have the Delta (Bose) AM/FM Cassette radio in my car. Good Luck!!

Radio code

If you don't have the radios security code, you can try entering 1111 as some replacement radios were coded with this security code. Your local Audi Dealer may be able to provide the correct security code for your vehicle, if you provide them with your vehicles Identification Number (VIN). This VIN is typically located on the drivers door pillar.

The radio should have a serial number on the unit which also can be given to the Audi dealer and checked in their data base of radio security codes. The serial number will start with AUZ, one radio serial number for example is AUZ1Z9A1965412.

To enter the code on the Wiesbaden Radio: Turn on the radio, SAFE should be displayed.
Push and hold the AM/FM button, then while holding the AM button down, push and hold down the SCAN button. Release the AM/FM and SCAN buttons, and the display should show 1000. Now enter the correct code using the radio pre-set station buttons (1-4). Button 1 changes the first digit in the code "1"000, Button 2 changes the second digit in the code 1"0"00, button 3 changes the third digit, button 4 changes the last digit in the code. In most cases the first digit is a 1 and won't need to be changed. You push each pre-set station button multiple times to step through the digits (1-9) to get the correct code displayed.

Code 1246 would entered by pushing button "2" two times, pushing button 3 four times, and pushing button 4, six times.

After entering the correct security code, push and hold down the AM/FM button, then while holding down the AM/FM button, push and hold down the SCAN button. The display will then show SAFE, release the two buttons, and now the radio should play correctly.

My 2000 grand am anti theft radio is locked and I need help unlocking it

This solution is for a 1999 Grand Am SE am/fm radio with tape cassette player:
Ido not know if this works for other Grand Am products past or prior 1999.
If the lcd display of the radio indicates "LOC" if you do not see anything on the display the small light behind the display is out and you need electronics to go further. If LOC appears here is what to do:
First put the ignition key to the ACC position.
2- press the HR clock adjust button once only ; the display should read 000
3-push the HR button successively until you reach 17 on the radio displayffd4cd1.jpg 4-then press on the MN (minutes) button again until you reach the number 42
5-when the number 1742 appears on the display, press on the AM/FM button once and after on the POWER/VOL button to power up the radio.

Once the code is shown on the display press and hold the am/fm button and scan button simultaneously until the work safe appears in the frequency display release the buttons a radio station frequency will automatically be displayed ... MAKE SURE YOU PUT IN THE RIGHT NUMBER OR YOU WILL LOCK UP THE RADIO AGAIN AFTER 2 TRYS AND WILL HAVE TO WAIT AN HOUR BEFORE YOU CAN RETRY IT. IF YOU LOOSE THE CARD WITH THE NUMBER SEE YOUR AUDI DEALER
