Call Logitech and report this issue, there's a decent chance they'll replace the keyboard. +1 646-454-3200

My keyboard is typing double letters. I have rebooted, changed batteries. But still typing double. reverted to usb keyboard for time being

I had this problem after changing the batteries in Logitech Cordless Internet Pro Keyboard - Model Y-RAJ56A, very frustrating.
I am using a KVM switch that only has PS2 outputs and one of the computers doesn't have PS2 connectors for both keyboard and mouse. This necessitated another mouse & receiver. Receiver will accept both mouse & keyboard but initial installation didn't include pairing the KB with the receiver, it
picked it up from the KVM.
When I changed the batteries in the keyboard I instinctively pushed the buttons to pair the receiver to the keyboard.
Wrong move!
Now the computer is receiving keyboard command from both the former 'mouse only' receiver & the KVM, creating ddoouubbllee letters. After pairing, they refused to be unpaired.
Solution was to go to Control Panel, in Device Management and disable Wireless Keyboard. Now it only receives keystrokes from the KVM.
Problem was solved.

Hope this helps, Plasticman69

Typing errors when using keyboard. letters missing when typing

these are the basic reasons for this problem

  • if you are using the Wireless Keyboard, then try to change the Batteries. Many times when the Batteries get weak this type of keyboard issues while typing occurs. So try to insert new batteries and check whether the problem is recurring. If it is coming again then it is the Hardware fault.

  • This can also happen because of the Virus. There are some virus or spyware that are the causes of this issue. So I would like to suggest you to scan your system using the updated Anti Virus. Once the Virus gets removed that are causing this issue than problem will get fixed up. Don't forget that your Anti Virus should me latest with proper updates. Simple way to check that your Keyboard is working properly, by connecting to some other system. If the same problem is coming that means there is an Keyboard issue and you will have to change the keyboard. And if your keyboard is working properly on another system that means there is fault in your system. Then try to scan your machine with the Anti Virus. Doing this will exactly know you what was the issue and you can troubleshoot that.

  • if PS2 port was having some issue, that was lead to missed and repeated letters on the keyboard. Hope that you are not having any PS2 issues because then you will have to fix your motherboard.
first you had to identify the cause in your pc by connecting it to other systems and then proceed to fix the cause

My keyboard won't let me type any letters or numbers

Are you sure that they are connected to each other? Try newer batteries. Press the connect button of the receiver for 2 secs and quickly press the connect button of the keyboard or press and hold the connect button of the receiver and the keyboard at the same time for 4secs do this steps over and over until it connects. Heres a tip the light on the receiver will blink onced pressed and if you press the connect button of the keyboard the blinking will stop which means that the receiver picked the keyboard out.... hope it helps

Microsoft wireless optical desktop 2000 - keyboard and mouse

There are a number of things that may be causing your problem.

The first thing I would check would be the batteries, with these units having a wireless connection if the batteries become weak they will transmit a weaker signal and thus make it harder for the unit to read. Battery life is variable depending on how often you use your keyboard and mouse, and how far away from the transmitter the keyboard and mouse sit.

Also because the units are wireless there may be interference coming from other wireless devices in your household. Some possible guilty devices maybe cordless phones, Wifi adapters, and even some remotes.

Also Have you installed the intellitype and Intellipoint software for your Mouse & Keyboard. If so you can use it to check your battery life/ signal strenth and set you mouse sensitivity and type repeat rate.

On the bottom of your keyboard & Mouse and on the top of the wireless transponder there are reset buttons. Pushing the transponder 1st and then either or both the mouse and keyboards buttons should resysnc them without the need for a reboot.

Hope this helps

Keyboard wont respond

Often this is simply because the radio link between the receiver and the mouse/keyboard has been broken. Some possible reasons for this are: flat batteries, insertion of new batteries, connector to the computer removed, etc.
In the first instance, you should restore the Logitech devices to a defined status (reset). To reset the device:
Remove the batteries from the mouse/keyboard for approximately ½ hour.
Press and hold the "Connect" button on the receiver for 15-20 seconds. Make sure that the receiver is connected, the PC is switched on and that there are no batteries in the devices. After resetting, insert new batteries and restore the connection as follows:
  1. Press and hold the "Connect" button on the receiver for 1-2 seconds.
  2. Then immediately press the "Connect" button on the bottom of the mouse (locate this button before you start, all cordless mice have a "Connect" button)
  3. Move the mouse around to check that the connection is working correctly
  4. Press and hold the "Connect" button on the receiver again for 1-2 seconds.
  5. Then immediately press the "Connect" button on the bottom of the keyboard (locate this button before you start, all cordless keyboards have a "Connect" button)
  6. Use the keyboard to check that the connection is working correctly
  7. Both devices should now be working correctly
If one or both of these devices is still not working, try them on another compatible PC system to ensure that the fault does not lie with your PC system.
