I have recently purchased acer aspire 5334-2581 at Staples but did not receive a manual for running the computer. I had a lady come to the house to get me started, but after composing my first e-mail last night it would not send. We have wi-fi in the house, but that didn't appear to help. I would love to obtain a manual. Thank you,

Take it to a best buy or staples, ask them to hook the laptop up to a universal power supply to see if that is your problem.

I don't know which country you are in. If in the UK, take it to Staples and they are duty bound to send it away for repair, or at the very least advise you where it must be sent for a warranty repair.
If it has a software fault, of course, that is not covered under any warranty.

Why not ask STAPLES for the specifications?

Or, read the manuals that came with the computer.

Or, access 'www.acer.com' or 'www.toshiba.com' or 'www.emachines.com', and read the specifications from the web-site.

Given that you _just_ purchased it, it's quite "normal" that _any_ brand-new computer _will_ have a wireless adapter.

You can purchase any OS you want to run on your Aspire 3000 notebook. You need to make sure that you have enough RAM (minimum necessary specs are on the packaging of the OS) to run some of the OS's available, most notably Vista and Windows 7, I'm sure you could run XP without a problem if you so wanted.
You can buy any windows OS from any computer/office store such as staples, however I would recommend buying from amazon or some other online store to get a better deal.

and make sure the wifi switch is toggled to turn on/enable the wifi device.

webcam has own microphone which use USB like camera. Windows has own port for microphone.
go to software options which you are using with camera and change recording device to different one " it should be named like "USB mic" or something like that.
i would check to software included to camera too

I can't tell from your post if this is a new unit or a refurb unit. On the bottom it should say refurbished. If its new you should have received the poster and user guide. Recovery discs you'll need to make from the CPU's instruction. If this is a refurb, you wouldn't get any of this material.

Click Start - Turn Off Computer - Then when the little window pops up click Turn Off. You will have to turn off the monitor manually if this is a desktop computer.
