Hello
Either your TVs speakers or its output IC may have damaged. To confirm it, just up the volume of your tV, and try to hear the sound if any. If it feels like dostorted or very low-hard to hear, the speakers must be suspected. If there is no sound signal at all, output IC should be damaged. To confirm whether the sound detecting section is Ok, just connect your TVs audio output sockets at the rear of your TV with an amplifier or so, and rise the amplifier voluem, to get sound through it. If you get sound in this way, make sure that the above daid two items. Fist check the speaker, by connecting an external speaker in place and listen to it. If it also doesn't get the result, surely the output IC of your TV has damaged, and should be replaced with same type and number. OK.

How can i hear what they are saying without that awful loud sound when they arent saying anything. cause when i turn the volume down i cant hear what they are saying

Turn up your SQUELCH button when no one is talking until the static noise just goes away.

Now your set will remain quiet until someone talks.

If you set the squelch too high it will also cut out the people talking, so always try to have it set just slightly above the background static level.

Good luck.

Problem with the volume of the T.V

I have a 50in plasma phillips has a volume problem sometimes you don't get sound and I go to another channel sometimes it works and when it doesn't i turn on my surround sound and never has failed me.I talked to a verizon service man and he has the same problem he thinks it is a issue with the cable boxes on the signal coming in that channel.I would suggest hook the TV up to your own speakers it will sound better.

Logitech x530 surround sound speakers sometimes make noise

Hi Nick
As you talk I remember a spair speakers I have a long time ago, brand Creative 5600, has a bad resistor inside the speaker SB, or board, you also check for bad cable at the back or static.
another thing is your volume control, sometimes if you down a few notch you may ...not feel the hit or beep, but check things first.
good luck
