I cant install the webcam with mic - Radio Shack VGA PC Camera Webcam

Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX WebcamThis webcam does not have a built-in mic
To check
Plug in the webcam
TEST SPEAKERS
Right click on speaker icon in System Tray or from Control Panel
Select "Playback Devices"
All available mics on your computer will show here
The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible
Right click on a mic and check the box to show disabled mics
Right click on the volume graph and click "Test"
Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard

SET DEFAULT & TEST MIC
Click "Recording" tab.
To set required (webcam) mic as default - click on mic font to highlight and click "Properties"
In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click 'OK'
Click "Levels" tab and ramp up sliders ( adjust to suit later)
Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays

Restart computer

well the first thing that you got to check is that if the web-cam has an inbuilt mic to it
If there is no mic then you will have to attach a seperate mic/headset for voice
Also check if its USB port or normal Audio/Video output...if it had audio/video cable then you will have to attach both the cable to the correct port in the Cabinet
If it has USB output cable with inbuilt mic then try to unistall and reinstall the driver software and attach the the webcam only after installing the drivers

Its important to set your webcam mic as default (the one you want to use) especially if you have a laptop with a built in mic as well

Assuming your "mic" is part of the webcam driver, download the webcam driver software from HP's website located at www.hp.com/support . Here is the specific link.....

Check in the volume settings that the mic has not been muted.

You need to configure the mic setting in the application itself.

If the webcam have mic and have installed another external mic on pc remove external mic from pc....
Go to the msn msgr and go TOOLS - AUDIO AND VIDEO SETUP and look there if ur mic working

You probably just need to unmute your mic. Go through the wizard to test the mic and make sure your speakers aren't close to the mic to avoid feedback.
