Our little girl has a lot of trouble with knots in her hair. We have tried different conditioners etc. Do you know of any other tricks or special brushes?

I would suggest you wash your little girl's hair with shampoo first and then use a really good conditioner, like Pantene Pro-V. Then with a wide toothed comb slowly comb out hair while it's still wet starting from the bottom of the hair and working your way up until you can comb through it all from top of head to bottom.

Shampoo and conditioner should be part of your daily hair care routine if you're prone to knots.

In addition, you can follow these few simple steps below;

1. Section off the area with the tangle. You can use hair clips if you wish, to do this.
2. With your left hand (right if you are left handed) wrap your hand around the section of hair.
3. Grasp and hold the section of hair tightly. You should not be 'pulling' on the hair. There should be a bit of 'slack' - leaving the hair from your hand to the scalp 'loose'. Holding this hand / hair in place will prevent 'pulling' of the hair from the scalp when you begin to comb through it.
4. Starting from about 1 inch from the tips of the hair, gently begin combing / brushing the hair toward the tips.
5. Once that area is clear of tangles, move up 1/2 inch to 1 inch at a time. With quick, fluid, and even strokes, comb through to the end with each pass.
6. Repeat as needed.

Good luck.

I have an amana front load washer nfw7200tw10 I replaced the drain pump and still get ND error

I had the same problem, not sure it was your pump, load it with a bucket of hot water and some bleach, turn it on and let it run through a short cycle, the hot water and bleach can clean the sensor and the screen in the bottom going down to the pump, did water drain out when you took the lines loose, if it did its a good sign, most people dont realize you use only a quarter or less cup of soap in this washer, it will get the sensor water sensor dirty and the washer thinks it has water when it doesnt, the pump cant drain cause there is no water, . try the hot water trick, rmember use a bucket and as hot a water as you can, probably hair sudds and who know what is blocking the sensor, mine was hair, from my little girl, Matt

Does face shape actually matter when you are picking a hair style? My daughters all have very different shape faces and I usually just go for matching cuts but I am starting to wonder if it is a bad idea.

You are right in thinking that face shape does play a role in choosing hair styles. Faces can be a whole range of shapes; round, square, oblong etc and different styles with flatter one face shape and potentially look terrible on another. So I would really advise you not to go for a 'one cut fits all' approach with your girls. Ask your hairdresser for some advice. You can even find sites on the internet now that allow you to upload a picture and then muck around with different hair styles so you can see how they would look on you.

I have relaxed hair and I am about to go to the Caribbean on vacation for 1 week. I am thinking of having my hair braided so that I would not have to style it every morning. However, I also plan to spend a...

My girls love having their hair braided during this time, so the fuss of styling each day is gone. All three of us have perms. Since I braid their hair myself, I am careful not to braid so tight that I pull their brains out, which we all know is frequently done. I don't like strained, tight and consistent pulling on permed hair! The hair is already in a fragile enough state. I do recommend a professional if you are going to wear braids on vacation, as you'll want them pretty the whole time. Tell them what you're after, then sit back and clench your teeth if your scalp is as tender as mine! Girl, swim to your hearts desire while you're gone. Just be sure to use a anti-chlorine shampoo and good conditioner whenever you're finished for the day. I also recommends "ion Anti-Chlorine Swimmer's Shampoo". Follow the directions on the label. Hope it's available in your area, if not, ask a reputable beauty supply store for a substitute. Just be sure it removes chlorine from the hair and nothing else! This works great for me and mine, so I hope it will be just as great for you. You can also wash your hair while your braids are in of course. Ask your stylist how best to do this. Be sure to use a good anti-chlorine shampoo first. My girls and I often follow this shampooing with a good moisturizing shampoo, then an excellent conditioner. Their are lots of different brands available. I caution you to use the anti-chlorine shampoo whenever swimming is over for that day. We simply cannot go to bed with chlorine in our permed hair! I am not telling you anything I have not tried on myself and my girls. Our hair grows with swimming, so we know this works. Good luck, have great fun, and do everything I wouldn't do, plus some!!!

How do I get my hair to grow faster?

Chances are, your hair is growing, you may just want to speed up the process. The three essentials to fast hair growth are: lots of water, aerobic exercise and eating mineral rich foods or taking extra minerals in supplements. Taking 22.5 miligrams of zinc daily along with a multi vitamin will speed up the process. Shampooing 1 to 2 times weekly and using products that cleanse gently, nourish and strengthen your hair will keep your hair from breaking. Exercise is so important because heart pumping exercise speeds up blood flow, therefore getting more nourishment to the papilla of the hair and perspiration unclogs the pores and helps to rid your body of toxins. Exercise also reduces stress and helps your body to relax. Drink 10 to 12 8oz glasses of water daily and eat lots of leafy dark green vegetables. Whenever you exercise, be sure to rinse or shampoo your hair 2 to 3 times weekly. If you cannot shampoo often enough, mist your hair with Revitalizing Leave In Conditioner and seal in the moisture with Nourish & Shine. Remember, perspiration has salt and ammonia in it and both are very drying for your hair, so be sure to shampoo or rinse as often as possible. P.S. loose the weaves, glue and heavy gels, and shampoo more often if you want your hair to be healthy!

I need to know how to attach starter rope on a chainsaw

The end-of cord knots are simple overhand knots, but you need to melt the cord ends back a little so that the knots won't pull out (do the outer end after threading the cord through the handle). You have to wind up the spring so that it has good 'pullback', but not so far that the spring binds-up when trying to start the engine. Wedge the spool so that it doesn't unwind, then run the cord into the spool, heat the cord end, and tie the knot. Fish the cord around the spool in a CCW direction until the spool is nearly filled. Thread the cord out through the port on the outside, then slide on the handle, heat the cord end, and tie another knot. Hope this helps!

Our rooftop RV air conditioner will not cool on really hot days unless the fan is on all the time. Why won't it cool with the fan on auto?

You are asking a lot from a limited resource ... Let it run all day for best results. Make reasonable demands only ...

When you shave ... (you are a guy?) do you run your electric razor at 1/2 speed for best results?

When you curl your hair (you are a girl) do you run your hair dryer on low no heat?
