The unit comes with all the cables in order to connect up to four computers to one KVM switch. If you're only using two computers, then you'll only need to connect one computer to Computer 1, and the second computer to Computer 2. The KVM will recognize that only two devices are connected, and generally skip the inputs for computers 3 and 4 until they have a device connected.

With GC S62 2 port KVM switch, can I transfer data from one computer to another. If so, how can I do it?

A KVM switch just allows multiple computers to share one keyboard, mouse and monitor. It doesn't allow the connected computers to communicate with each other. So no, it won't allow you to transfer data. If you want to do that, you'll need to connect the computers via a network (through a 4-port router, for example), or use the old-fashioned method of transferring files manually using a flash drive.

IOgear KVM not working with laptop

First, you have to make sure that the KVM switch is directly connected to your laptop, and NOT to a docking station.

This KVM switch is designed to work with direct connections to the computers.

Second, the light indicator on the KVM switch is not an indicator for power. It's an indicator to see which port is active. If your laptop is connected to port 2, but the focus of the KVM is in port 1, then the port 1 will have a light, not the port 2.

You may also refer to the user manual of the KVM.

Thank you!

Sometimes one of my computers *always same one) doesn't recognize the mouse and keyboard.

This is a common problem with KVM switches. To isolate the problem, here's what you need to do:

1. First, connect the keyboard and mouse directly to the problem computer to ensure that the keyboard and mouse works correctly while being directly connected.

2. Swap the connection of two computers. If you're having a problem on the computer that is connected to port 1 of the KVM, connect that computer to port 2 of the switch or just swap the connection. If the problem recur on port 1, then there's a problem with the keyboard and mouse cable on port 1.

3. But if you're not able to duplicate the problem on port 1 or 2, disconnect the KVM switch from the computers, leave it disconnected for 5 minutes.

4. After 5 minutes, reconnect the KVM to the computers and reboot the computers.

5. If same problem occur, then contact the manufacturer of the KVM and have them RMA the device.

Thank you!

Euromax code box for virgin midia

Check that you are getting power to your StarView SV211K 2-port KVM switch. Try disconnecting the power, and then reconnect it, to "reset" the KVM. Check all the cables from port #1 on the KVM to computer #1. Check all the cables from port #2 on the KVM to computer #2.
Check all the cables from your Keyboard/Video/Mouse to the KVM.

If you still have a problem, disconnect everything from the KVM,
and connect the Keyboard/Video/Mouse directly to computer #1,
to ensure that it works *without* involving the KVM.

All Keys do not work on keyboard with KVM switch

GCS632U is designed to work with standard USB keyboard an mouse only. You have to make sure that you are not using any type of adapter such as PS/2 to USB adapter. To further isolate the problem, please follow the steps below:

1. Connect the USB keybord directly to th computer to make sure that the keyboard is working properly.

2. Make sure that the keyboard is connected to the keyboard port on your KVM switch. You may take a look under neath this GCS632U (near the USB ports) and you will see an icon where to connect the keyboar and mouse.

3. If you're still gettings the same problem, Try power cycling this kvm switch by disconnecting if from the computers and disconnect also the keyboard and mouse from the KVM switch and leave them disconnected for a minute or two.

4. Reconnect everything after two minutes and then reboot the two computers.

5. If same problem exist, try using different USB keyboard.

NOTE: This KVM swith does not work correctly with wireless, gaming and smart keyboards because it's designed to work with standrd USB keyboard only.

Belkin (F1DK102P) 2-port KVM Switch freezes

We have the same model and the same problem. The scroll lock combo did not work for us. You need to press Ctrl, Ctrl then up or down arrow.

The manual was a load of old Tom *** as it did not mention this.
