Sounds like the cP150, CP120 and CP114 capacitors need replacement. You can get the CP150, CP120 and CP114 repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the capacitors and the CD with instructions.

I'm 58 years old. Have had red lines forever. Tonight turned tv on and it faded to blue.Kept on shutting off Red led light flashed 8 times Read your info. Decided I had nothing to lose. I actually fixed it myself. Probably just a quick short time fix but I'm happy tonight. I guess I'll start looking for new TV. Don't know if I'll go with another Sony. I've this one for 5 years. Should last longer than that (I think)
