Why wont the screen turn on but the wheel lights up, how can i fix it?

Battery and Black screen Blue ring: Remove the back and check and see if the battery isn't fully connected
I put a folded peace of paper and put it on top of the battery also push softly but firmly on the Rubber rectangle above the battery (This is the Chipset For the screen, Black screen Blue ring ) and put the back on.

Just the blue ring, screen does not turn on

Hello,

Blue ring faillure could be solved, trying to reset the e250.
How to reset:
1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power/Menu button.
3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.

Only if the reset action above did not help,
reload and update to the latest firmware.

Installing firmware will erase all data from the player !

  • Step 1: Switch to MSC mode.

How to switch to MSC mode:
1. Turn device OFF.
2. Slide the hold switch to the direction of the headphone jack so an orange color would show putting the device on Hold.
3. Press and hold the ( |<< ) button while connecting the device to the PC.

The easiest way would be using the automatic Sansa Firmware Updater. Directly to the download Sansa Firmware Updater .

My sansa wont turn on, I took out battery to reset and blue ring

Try resetting your firmware via Sandisk's support site. If it still doesn't work, your sansa's mainboard might be busted. The cost of replacing it will be more than a refurbished one (under $40 online).

The Screen Stays black and the ring turns blue and thats it

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.

Help! my sansa wont turn on.. but the blue ring is still glowing

My sansa 260 has had the blue ring glowing and no screen for a while and I tried all the repair software and none of it worked because my sansa would not connect to my computer. I used the 15 second trick to turn it off, put it on hold then opened the back. Above the battery in the back is a black rectangle which was out a little so I pushed it back in took the battery out and put it back in and when i closed it and turned it on the screen was back! Works perfectly now
