When I turn on the TV there is no picture and a second later I hear a click as if I have turned it off, however the green 'on' light stays illuminated. I have tried manually and with the remote. Also, when I try to turn it off, the green light stays on, but still no picture. This has happened for the past few days and I can usually get the picture to appear after a number of attempts.

SOURCE: Sampo PME-42S6 black screen

I have the exact same problem and sent an e-mail to Sampo in Taiwan today (March 3rd) with a technical explanation and description of the problem you have reported. I included information on the status of the LEDs inside the unit. My suspision is that the power distribution board has developed a fault. I am going to try to find out if a schematic is available to repair the board or if a new board can be purchased. I will provide an update when I have one. Glenn

When turning on the TV the green light on the front does not come on. You hear a click and then about ten seconds later you hear another click but the tv never comes on.

What light do you get, green blinking, red blinking, yellow steady light or yellow blinking light. The led lights will tell what is wrong with your tv.
