I have a 7 yr old sony ten disk cd changer and a sony reciever. Last weekend the receiver stopped recognizing the CD changer. The reciever cycles thourgh the radio bands, but the source button can not change to the CD function. The fuse is good, there is plenty of power to the set.
The cd changer is locked. Do you think it is corrosion on the cable connectors? They are so small I can not see , how can I clean up any oxidation?

Friend,
Maybe, there is a problem from the detector of you radio function to the amplifier. Try to check on it first or try resoldering from the detector section

SOURCE: Sony CDX-GT360S NO AM OR SHORTWAVE RECEIVE
IT IS NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL, MOST CARS NOWADAYS DON'T HAVE SHORTWAVE ANTENNAS, THEY OFTEN COME WITH ANTENNAS SUITABLE FOR FM STATIONS SO WHEN SW DXers LIKE US HAVE CD PLAYERS IN OUR CARS WE SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE IN MIND THAT ANTENNAS MUST BE CHANGED, HERE IS THE SOLUTION.. GO TO A RADIO SHACK OR EBAY AND GET ONE OF THOSE HIGH SW ANTENNAS AND YOU ARE READY TO GO.
HOPE IT HELPS
SOURCE: How can I get the cd changer to stop changing non stop?
Something is out of timing. When powered up, the unit trys to get to a known state and will continue until it reaches that state. If the timing of the gears has been changed, this may not occur.
I'll try to see if I can create a set of instructions to re-time this.
