Mitsubishi VS 45607: 1. TV starts out as B/W when first turned on. After about 30-60 min, the color is restored, although not in the full color spectrum. 2. TV flickers a lot vertically. After about an hour, the flickering goes away. 3. Top and bottom borders of the screen image do not stretch out in straight lines.

You have a bad video board. If you can find one used it is fairly easy to replace once you get into the TV itself. Your color guns could also be adding to this problem. I am not familiar with this television and its components so I dont know if you can replace one color gun at a time or if once one is shot then all three have to be replaced. That should be a start for you anyway.

Picture is really light in color screen is white

It sounds like you have bad solder joints in the tv. If you resolder the boards in the tv, it sounds like it will be fine. When you are slapping the tv, it is temproarly making contact again and fixing the picture..

Mitsubishi VS-45607 45" Big Screen

Good Day, Delano1981;

It may cure the problem but I would suspect the 9 Volt source
CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND
IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH
ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.

This should resolve your TV"s condition.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Mitsubishi projection tv

Since a PIP set has two tuners it sounds like the chroma circuit on one tuner is shot. Now this fortunately is a less expensive repair. If the set is fine otherwise then go for the repair but first get an estimate. It will be cheaper than a plasma flat screen of similar size. A reputable repair shop should charge no more than $300 (should be less) MAX for this repair.

Mitsubishi VS-45607 Picture flickers and dims

It could be a bad solder connection that opens up as the set warms up. It could also be caused by a couple of bad capacitors, C2p05 (100uf/16v) Located By Ic2p01 and check C2c52 (10uf/50v) Located near Q2c51. A technican will be able to fix it for about what you paid for it I suppose.
