SOURCE: Compressor is not working
Same problem with mine. Just pulled the thing apart ...and they were nice enough to have a schematic right behind the water bucket. In my case I found the defrost switch was open. If you pull the back off it's located in the lower right corner clipped to the compressor pipe and covered with a black insulating putty. It has two large red wires coming out of it as well, quite obvious. I unclipped mine and tapped it a few times and it closed up - so now the compressor will come on ...but I'd like to get a known good one in there. I just found this site was I was trying to find the part. If anyone knows where to get one please post! PN: 37TA32 501624 F57-20F J0332 Thanks! - Pat
SOURCE: DH30 Dehumidifier Compressor Does not Operate
I just picked one up at a tag sale, seller said it worked sometimes. Seems to have the same problem as yours. I took the time to tweak all of the connections and then re-soldered the control board with no luck. I finally disconnected the humidity control and it worked fine. By disconnecting the humidity control the unit defaults to it's highest setting and you have to unplug the unit to turn it off. Conclusion so far is that the humidity control rheostat is bad.
Note: Now while running the fan runs continuously and the compressor cycles on and off every 10 to 15 minutes. This may to be normal since the unit appears to be doing its job and I'm not sure how it is supposed to run since a purchased it broken.

If everything is clean on the coils and the filter is clean it should work. I would contact LG because they have a 5 year warranty on these dehumidifiers. Make sure that you have your reciept. Usually what they will do is locate a shop near you and it can be serviced there. LG will pay the bill. Or if there is no local shop they will send you a service tag for your old unit and ship you a replacement unit. Contact LG and explain this problem to you. Everything should be covered under warranty still.
Good luck - Tech101

could have overheated the compressor if the filter was really dirty and blown it
