The right channel in my Kenwood KRF-V6070D is not wworking. I have replaced the power outpu IC, but still no go. It seems that the input to the IC could be muted. Any idea?
Regards,
Tony
Might be an output relay with a bad contact. If you have an
oscilliscope you will see sound before but not after the relay.
Try wiggling and pushing on/off all the tape monitor buttons and any
mode switches. If you have a pre-out/ main-in switch then try
switching that several times (with the unit off) then try it.
Good luck.

hello! i need help with this, i have the same amp Kenwood KRF-V5050D it seems that it had a short circuit on the speaker terminals, close to the 2 12v relays wich are close to each other and the 2 transistors kia 7812 and kia 7912 was turned black, i have replaced them, and i have disconnect the 2 big IC but the amp still does go in the protection mode, but when i disconnect the 2 transistors kia 7812 and kia 7912 the amp does stay on. i have checked almost everything and it seemed to be good. i have checked every transistor and replaced some capacitors, but i have not replaced the 4 big capacitors, with all the 0.22j resistors and all the terminal relays and the 2 big ic disconnected the amp still goes on protection mode. i had this amp returned from ebay and the buyer is waiting for it to be repaired, i would aprecciate any help. [email protected]
Kind Regards.
it is possible that the voltage to the filament of the display is absent. This is normally a 3.6 volt AC which comes from the transformer and it can be lost a the connectors or the circuit board. It will be best to use a multimeter to trace the voltage to the display unit. check the voltage to the display driver IC, check the negative grid voltage to the display , if there is an open resisitor of the feed to the display voltage to the IC. Finally check the continuity of the filament of the display unit.
The driver IC is also a suspect , sumulate heat and see if the fault comes up easily which can confirm the case.
They share remote control frequencies which cannot be changed. If you move them apart and carefully aim the remote you can maybe work one and not the other.
It's likely the power amp is faulty. However if you can't get in touch with Kenwood, then take it to another repair shop or go back to the other and tell them you can't get in touch with Kenwood and could they have a look at it anyway.
first pull out the power transistor then biased the output terminal. base, emitter have dc volts .4 to .5 collector to emitter have full voltage. if this voltage are in ur pre amp buy new trasistor
