I wouldn't think it would still be operating after four years in the box! This is an Eco Drive watch (powered by light). I am surprised that you would think it would be operating after four years in the box having not seen any light in that period of time. The instructions should be in the box with the watch. If you would rather read them on the computer screen, go here: http://www.citizenwatch.com/COA/English/settings_int.asp?caliber=C651&interactive=C650

I have a SkyHawk Eco Drive. I found it dead after some number of months in the drawer. I followed all the instructions to get my watch going but nothing happened. After I tried all the things, I contacted Citizen and they provided me with a return authorization number and I returned it to them. They returned it to me in a couple of weeks and it was and continues to run to this day. I leave it out where it can see daylight. There was no charge to me for this service. Now that I have a cell phone, I rarely wear a watch ... probably the same with you ... though my watch was very expensive and is a thing of beauty!

The day and date on my vintage timex indiglo doesn't work anymore. What should i do? Will it affect the time? The light works perfectly.

Since Timex watches are very inexpensive, you can just go without that information or maybe buy a new watch. Having it fixed would probably cost more than a new one.
The fact that these 2 functions do not work anymore would have no affect on the time the watch keeps.

Hi, I have bought a swiss watch hanowa and when i opened the box, i found out it is not working. Do i haave to set something up before it starts or is it a problem with the watch?

battery operated watches have a small plastic tag under the crown
this prevents the battery making contact so it does not go flat in storage
pull that tag out and press the knob home and it will start operating

How do you remove the crown to take the movement out of the case

Except you are watch repairman, otherwise you can't do it by yourself at home. If you use force to pull the stem/crown out of the case, you will damage your watch. After that, putting the stem/crown back in, the watch doesn't work anymore.
