We have a samsung VP-MX25E camcorder. For certain videos we have taken, when we go to play them back the thumbnail does not show the video image and instead has a questionmark and saying the format is not supportable. We are recording on to the camcorder's own memory. Do you know why it is doing this, whether we can retreive the videos taken and how to stop it in the future?

how did you transfer the video from the card to your PC?

did you connect the camcorder to your PC or did you use a memory card reader?

if you can play the audio then what you need is the right video codec for the unit
try searching for video codecs through search engines

make sure that the software that you are using to play the video plays the file format of your video,

try using roxio, then connect the camcorder to your computer via USB, make sure that the drivers are installed, play the video through your camcorder then use roxio to capture it real time instead of the usual "copy-paste"

do you get any kind of error code?what type of memory stick are you using?how big is the ms capacity?may need to try using a diff ms or try using ms with diff devices.if diff ms works fine.may need to format ms using computer first (using card reader if available) and camcorder last.may need to reset camcorder (make sure cam is on when you press the reset button.hope this works.thanks :)
