This is a tricky problem that I have not been able to find a solution for. Our 56 inch JVC rear projection tv has been flickering, and showing ghost images off and on for over a year. Recently, it hasn't been correcting itself. There are various lines running through the image, cutting it in half horizontally, and in quarters vertically. On eac alternating vertical section, there is a ghost/mirror image from the panel to the left. In other words, you can see different parts of the picture in ghost duplicate on other parts of the screen. Also, when is does flicker in and out, there are "buzzy" lines that appear, and the image will flash dark spots. This problem is quite annoying, especially since the tv is only 3 years old. If anyone can tell me if it is worth fixing, of if the tv is shot, it would be greatly appreciated. I hope my explanation is not too confusing.

Talk to JVC as I have suggested and this is likely a known problem: loss of any color, picture upside down etc requires a upgrade to correct and I have seen about twenty sets with their name like this with this kind of problem.
Hi, convergence amps have failed, your going to need a tech for that repair, involves un--soldering and re-installing parts as well as an alignment, hope this helps, video-tek
