Hello jo_anne1977, the most likely reasons that the Computer "do not recognize" the "DVD ROM!

  • It may not have been installed properly.
  • The other is that the "Hardware & Software Drivers wasn't loaded at the initial installation of the OS."
  • If this is the case then do the following:
  • From the "Start Menu, [right click] to open the Computer Properties.
  • Next, click on the 'My Computer', if on your "Desktop."
  • Check to see if there's a DVD RW Drive (D:) in the "Device with Removable Storage area."
  • If the area is (Blank)?
  • Click on the "Start Button," open the All Programs.
  • Scroll to find the Media Disk Player.
  • You made need to (Setup) your player.
  • Open the Disk Player 'shortcut' and choose to "Setup / Install the Disk Player.
  • Follow all the instructions while doing so.
  • Remember to click on the Apply and OK buttons when finished.
  • Restart the computer, when finished.
  • "I hope this information is helpful, thank you for using FixYa." paul7of9

My acer aspire 5920 wont play blu rays anymore the driver is there and says its working but it shows only a cd drive on the devices even though it shows the dvd rom in properties

Best first step is to make sure that you have the most current driver from Acer. If you are unsure if it's current just doenload the one that is right for your operating system.
Either way re-install the drive! (YES, even if it said that everything is operating correctly).

My computer wont play dvd even though i have the video display driver installed. Though the driver seem not to be working because it shows a question mark at the device manager window. What do i do, does...

Actually no driver is installed - the question mark appears when the driver is missing. So yes, you need to remove whatever you installed since it's not working and install the latest official driver - you will find it in the support/downloads section from the site of the manufacturer.

Won't reconize disk in player

Well here is your resolution for your problem.

As you saying that when you insert any CD or DVD in Player its shows NO DISK.

Well Sometime what happen is if a CD contains are not compatible with Player than it wont work with it.

Or if you had burn that CD or DVD from your personal computer or laptop but it is not burn in proper format than also it wont work in PLAYER.

Well even if CD or DVD is having any scratches on it or it is Used uncounted enumerable times than also sometimes this things happen and it wont work in PLAYER.

Well before Inserting any CD or DVD in Player Just check the above mentioned points.

If everything is ok with the CD or DVD but than also its shows the same problem than get the CD or DVD cleaner liquid spray or even you can use Spirit to clean the CD or DVD and than Insert it.

After doing all this but if its shows no result in it than go to the company dealer and ask him to change the head of the player and you wont face this problem afterward for sure.

if you still have nay quarries regarding the same or any other you may reply me.

TSST Corp CD/DVD RW TS-L632M ATA device wont play discs. Driver is current

I also have the TSST cd/dvd with the same problem but I just realized that is a comflict between all these programs I have installed (Windows Media Player, Sonic and Roxio Easy Creator 6). WMP will not even show it, then I went to Roxio audio central an it worked perfectly. I tried to change the default back to WMP but it wont take it. I believe this happens because Roxio was the last I installed and took control of the sound. Hope this help. I will be uninstalling my WMP and installing it again so that I can keep it as my first choice.

Acer aspire 3050-1733

Hi there,

Try downloading the most current Chipset drivers from Acer:
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_3050.html

This sorts out most blank media problems. Also, you could try a dvd/cd lens cleaner.

Hope that helps
