Run the PQ troubleshooting diagnostic. See if the black is printing. If not, run the Disable Cartridge check. This will allow you print with only one cartridge in the printer. Take out all the cartridges. Put the black in another slot and put the cyan in the black slot(the top). Print the config page. If the black is printing, is the cyan printing. If black isn't printing the cartridge is bad. If black is printing and cyan isn't something is wrong with the printer. If they are both printing put them back in the correct locations along with the other two colors. It isn't the printer.
No, it will not. I have this printer and last week I ran out of cyan. Even though i only wanted to print black and white documents the printer would not print anything until I replaced the cyan cartridge.
Check the black cover on the pick up assembly under the cyan cartridge. If it is only a fraction too high cyan will not print. Make sure it is clipped in place correctly.
Firstoff, if you have tray 1 set to "any size" & "any type" they had problems with it going into calibration to frequently. If you upgrade the firmware this will take care of that. As for no Cyan, check the scanner interlock to insure it is opening the scanner cover. You could also go into diagnostics and disable cartridge check and swap the cartridges around, ie. cyan & magenta, run the print quality pages and see if the problem follows the cartridge. It could also be HV power supply.
It is definite one cartridge is not running. You do one thing -
1. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Red. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
2. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Cyan. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
3. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Yellow. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
I am sure when you changed the color to Cyan - it did not print Cyan or blank page you got. So you must replace the Cyan cartridge or may be ink is not coming out through the passage. And first you have to check whether you have removed the plastic tape from the head of t he cartridge.
