I'm getting a Disc Error -- Please eject the disc. -- Playback feature may not be available on this Disc. error message when I put any DVD into my Sylvania DV220sl8 DVD/CD VCR combo player. This error message is due to an improper format, that your dvd player can't handle. To correct this you need to use a program such as nero and in nero is a program called nero vision, that will recode the movie file into a dvd playable format.
You can download a trial of nero here http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads-nero9-trial.php You will have to purchase a license when the trial ends. Sorry we cannot give you a serial key for this as it is Illegal.
the message you are getting is the machines waay of telling you that it can not read that disc. which means you will have to burn your discs in a different format. or your are using a type of disc it does not recognize.
In the manual there is a list of discs the unit wil play. On the last pages there is a quick reference. There are also region codes that need to be set. Maybe a power outage reset your settings. Also it would be good to know if this unit played disc previously, plays other disks? Or the discs play on other players. It could just be a dirt problem as well.
I think I figured it out...at least mine is working now anyways and it hasn't worked in 2 years! I got the remote out, pushed setup in dvd mode and initialize and now it works
If these disks have not been finialized then they will not play on the dvd player. Turn your computer on and see if they will play. If they will then you will need to the dvd palyer finialize them. I hope this helps you. If not get back to me and then we can try a different way.
