I need to replace the fuse in an LG Hood Micro. Model# LMVM2075ST

  • Bill Erickson Feb 27, 2011

Thanks. I had been there already and did not have the micro in front of me. I was hoping not to have to take it down and completely apart. Never fails though. Had to take it down and the fuse was good! The temp sensor is bad though. Glad I can still do this stuff. These people were ready to buy a new one. Thanks again and thumbs up to you.

I have an LG LMVM2075ST which has worked flawlessly for 5 years. It just stopped working. No lights. Checked breaker, checked outlet, unplugged - plugged back in ... now at the point of troubleshooting...

Unless you are good at this troubleshooting, with a multimeter, circuit diagram, and so forth, I'd take it to a service tech. You may find that a quote will approach the cost of a new one, or that parts are not so easily obtained now.

I'd say a fuse has blown or thermal cutout failed, if everything is dead.

You should be aware that the magnetron circuit in these things generates a lethally high voltage which can be present even when unplugged from the wall.

LG microwave oven that has a 2-level (Low & High) that lights the cook surface. The High level light does not work?

There could be a number of issues, A schematic would be of great help to determine how the lights operate / how they are controled. They might be controled directly off the control board, or via a step down transformer. The lights might have two filiments for low & high. There could be two light bulbs, where one is on for low & two for high. A two position switch could be bad for the high position.

Does the maytag mmv1164ww1 micro/hood combo require outdoor venting?

No .. it can also be recirculated . you will need charcoal filters if you do so. There is a specific charcoal filter for each microwave hood. Any appliance part dealer would carry it ( you will need to give them the micro hood model number ) or you can order them online through Whirlpool parts website ( whirlpool owns maytag)

LG lmvm2075st microwave control panel problems.

"On each panel the board surrounding the same diode is burned"?

Maybe that's a three-tap power relay, not a diode?

I'd be very interested in this and I have the service manual here which you can download.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please include your full model number from the tag in or on the unit) for a free estimate and free tips & do-it-yourself advice.

Also, if you can send me a photo of the burned area, that would be helpful.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Cooks Model 2115 microwave oven will not power on when connected to the 110v outlet. Can this be a fuse problem? If so, where is the fuse located?

Yes, is probably the fuse. I have fixed several microwaves with this problem and the fuse is almost always located just inside where the power cord enters the unit. Just remove the skin (usually screws on the back and BOTTOM also) test the fuse with a micro meter. If no contenuity, replace with same size, type and rated fuse. Most microwaves are 20amp fuse.

LG microwave LMVM2075ST panel started acting crazy after I cleaned it. Will not do anything if I push a button except beeping noises. Any suggestions as to what is going on with this machine? Should I try...

liquid probably has entered keypad laminate; causing a short. unplug unit, direct warm hairdryer to entire keypad; plug back in; and hope for the best. if no luck; replace keypad. also never spray anything directly onto keypad; always clean with a moistened towel with light force.

LG micro oven it not heat

I am not an expert on Miocrowave ovens, but from past experience I know that they have a number of micro-switches on the door as safety devices. If these switches are faulty, the last safety feature is to short the supply and blow the fuse to stop the microwave from operating in an unsafe condition. Obviously the switches would have to be checked first before jumping to any conclusions and a number of other faults would probably cause the fuse to blow as well.
