Ensure your webcam's lens is focused. You may have the ability to rotate the webcam's lens and focus it till you appear sharper. Secondly, make sure there is enough light in the room where your webcam is. If it's too dark, the webcam may not be recognizing what is in front of it. Lastly, try adjusting the settings in the Skype video settings. There are a variety of options to control your webcam, and preview its settings with a video preview screen built into Skype.

All you can do is ensure the lens is clean without removing the bezel and manually adjusting the focus. if its less than two years old its enough reason to have acer fix it if you give them a call.

Webcams come in a wide array of styles and designs, from the very simple to the elite, but they all have one thing in common: They can be adjusted to match your mood at the moment and creative desires. Open your web cam in a chat program, such as Skype. Look for a link called "Preferences," where you will find webcam options you can adjust. Choose the "Camera Settings" option and another window will open, labeled "Properties." There are more options here that can be adjusted. Change a setting, such as brightness, by clicking on the slider mechanism with your pointer and dragging it. These mechanisms are usually pretty sensitive, so be cautious when moving the settings. Cam loses focus on Skype
I have the same exact issue - however, it appeared. In order to understand whether it is the driver/os issue I moved my camera to a different computer - from Windows desktop to Mac laptop. And the issue still PERSISTS. I did not have the same problem in the past few months where I used the exact same setup and the same camera. Thus, it can be that the camera went bad (unlikely) or a Skype issue (likely). I think it might be related to the peer connection re-evaluation that happens in the "~30 sec" interval

Simplest answer: Usually webcams have a focus dial, this is usually a colored ring around the lens, you can actually turn this back and forth to focus better. I would try that above all else.

If that doesn't work you may actually have a problem with the camera. You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, and try a different USB port to plug it into.

Also try it with other video conferencing applications. If Google is Blurry and Skype is not, it may be a problem with the software you are using.

If all of those things fail, it may just be a worn out camera. If that's the case you may need to replace it.

QuickCam v11.7, blurry then didn't work!
Some webcams have a focus ring around the lens that you can rotate to achieve the sharpest picture.
Some rely on software alone
You have a Logitech webcam, so you can launch the dedicated webcam toolbar and adjust the settings from there as well - click on the 2 gear wheels for the Settings.
Make sure no Video Effects are selected ( the two theatre masks on the toolbar )

I suggest you download the user manual from the CD and see how to set up the webcam before you go into Skype

Before you do that, check the image on another site to see how it looks
