Click start, then devices and printers
Click add a printer
choose the port it will hook into...if the USB port isn't listed, that's ok, just choose LPT1 for now
now click the WINDOWS UPDATE button...very important! You must have internet to do this!
it will download a whole whack (yes, that's the technical term for the amount) of previously unlisted drivers.
Once the update is done, you can choose HP as the manufacturer and Officejet 4100 series as the printer.
It's just follow the prompts after that, and then plug in the printer.
If it doesn't automatically install the printer at this point, It should find it as new hardware, but this time you can choose HP and Officejet 4100 series for the printer because the driver now exists!

I have driver astra 4100/4600 for windowXP. Can use it for windows 7 ?

This printer does not support Win 2003 server OS.

Everytime i put in the disk for the officejet j4500 it says my computer isn't compatable with this unit I run windows 7 it says to fix the problem before going on

For that you need to install windows 7 drivers in your computer.
Drivers are same for j4500 series so you can install driver of j4540 because driver are same for j4500 series.
click here
Click on above link and select any mdel and then select os then download driver also there is some updates download updates too then install.
Then it will work .

Where can I get HP officejet 4660 driver. Also my laptop got HP Printer 4100 series,I looks like can not combine the too programs.What should I do? Thank you

Get your drivers at www.hp.com/support. When you get to the support page, use the search box to find driver for the 4660 and the 4100. Make sure you get the version that is for your installed operating system.

I don't understand what two programs you want to 'combine'.

Is your laptop new? Running Windows 7? Please check the Microsoft compatability list for the devices you want to operate under 7. If they are listed, there may be special instructions there. If they are not listed, you may be out of luck.
