There's really only 2 possibilities here, older than or newer than 2.02. The upgrades are as follows:

For version 2.02 and above run the following batch file:
Flash_5125_6K_from_v0202_or_v0204_to_v0206.bat For version 2.00 or older run the following batch file
Flash_5125_6K_from_v0200_or_older_to_v0206.bat

I would try the newer one first and if it fails, then use the older one. (logic being, the newer one will check the revision, and if it's too old, won't do the upgrade)

Once you have successfully upgraded to 2.06 I highly recommend upgrading to 2.08 (you must do the 2.06 upgrade first though!)

DAP-1522 WIZARD

You can download the latest version of the firmware you need below. Just determine if you have dap-1522 or dap-1522 rev.B.

The serial number, hardware version/revision information, MAC address and model number, will be located on a label on both the outer box, and on the adapter itself, usually attached to the bottom of the unit. See the example picture on the bottom of this page.

latest dap-1522 firmware:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dap1522/Firmware/dap1522_firmware_141b.bin

latest dap-1522 revB firmware:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Wireless/dap1522_revB/Firmware/dap1522_revB_FW_203b.bin

Install instructions for the firmware are on page 41 in this pdf:
ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dap1522/Manual/dap1522_manual_130.zip

Here is a great setup video for it:

How do I know what my firmware is?

One way to find your current firmware installation is to login to your router using http://192.168.0.1 , then enter your username and password. (If you're not sure of these, check the label which should be on the base of the router.)

Click 'Maintenance' from the main menu, then 'System Status'. The firmware version should be under 'Router Status'.

Sorry, not sure what the 1 or 11 means...but you might need to know the version number of your router, so again check the label on the base of the router: you should see WGT624v2 or something similar.

When you know the version number, visit the Netgear website and select the Support Page for your version number:

http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/WGT624.asp

This will tell you the firmware available for your router.

If you need to upgrade firmware, it's best to proceed very carefully! Use a cabled connection, and take a backup of your settings, as advised in the manual. :)

Getting The WRE54G To Connect With The WRT54G

The WRT54G, WRT54GS, and WAP54G all must have the latest firmware versions available installed in order to connect with the WRE54G Wireless-G Range Expander. Here are the minimum firmware version requirements that you must meet: * WRT54G (all versions): at least firmware version 2.02.2 * WRT54GS: at least firmware version 2.07.1 * WAP54G (all versions) : at least firmware version 2.07 To Identify your WAP54G Version Number: To find out which version of the WAP54G you currently have, flip your Access Point over to look at its underside. Near the serial number label, near the Linksys© logo, you will see your model number and a possible version. Labels for the WAP54G version will look like one of the following: * WAP54G (no version means Version 1) * WAP54G ver. 1.1 * WAP54G v. 2 For WAP54G Version 1 and Version 1.1 Users ONLY: (if you have a WAP54G Version 2, you may proceed with the 2.07 or later firmware upgrade) NOTE: Before upgrading the WAP54G Version 1 and Version 1.1 models to firmware version 2.07 or later, make sure your Access Point?s current firmware is version 1.09.1 beforehand. The version 1.09.1 code performs an important OS upgrade for these versions of the Access Point -- it must be loaded before using later firmware.
